Walk from airport

Our 1st night we planned to just stay at the Best Western Carib Resort.
Is it a long walk when we get off the plane to just walk to this resort? I heard that it could cost us $24 for a taxi just to get there. And is there a walkway to use, or would we have to walk the road?

In may of this year we stayed at the Best Western Carib Beach Resort #70-C Linbergh Bay. If this is the same one you are talking about it is right around the corner from the airport. A short 5 - 10 minute to check in desk. I beleive there is another Best Western on the other side of the bay that is about a 30 - 40 minute walk on a sidewalk that runs along the south side of the road.

If you're staying at the close one, don't try and get a cab over there... the cab drivers get really pissy about it. We stayed a night there one year and didn't realize how close it was, asked for a cab (don't remember how much it cost), and were glared at severely by the guy who organizes cab runs and the cabbie was incredibly rude. 4.8 seconds after boarding the cab we arrived at our destination and realized why they were so rude! OOPS!
