I think we should call it "Returing from St Johnitis". Same thing happened to me in August. Travel day back I started to feel draggy, by the next morning a fever of 101. No other symptoms and it went away in a few days!

Ditto-
I started getting a sinus infection while I was there. Started an antibiotic on STJ. I felt like crap the first week I was back. I started hurting all over and running fever. Bronchitis set in last week and I started on my second antibiotic. I feel better today, but I am coughing my head off. My muscles in my stomach hurt from coughing!

Thanks guys for all your nice thoughts. Those along with a sweet call from BillinVa and some Kiss of the Jumbie Decaf this afternoon and poof I suddenly feel better!! That was the first coffee I've had since Friday morning.............yum, it was soooo good!

"StJohnitis" sounds like a good name for this, luckily after 6 trips I've only caught it once. I do catch that "Walk of Woe" disease when leaving though.

Now that I feel better.................could we maybe delay Christmas for just a day or so??? I just KNOW I can get caught up, I know I can

Stay healthy everyone!

So sorry all you people are so sick!! Especially this time of the year.

I usually am very nervous about getting on planes because I usually get sick everytime.

I've found that Zicam work great! I was getting sick before I went down in November. Started it right away and within 3 days I felt alot better.

Hey Jan,

Sorry to hear that you got sick on your return to reality. I hope you kick it real soon. It was great meeting you and Mike while on the island. How did Mike's test go? I have a couple of super pictures of all of us at the Beach Bar on 12/9. I must attempt my first posting with a picture.

Get well soon,

Mark

I made my family take Airborne when we started our (10 hour) flight to Maui last year

I am sorry, but I just finished LMAO. On our first trip to STJ two years ago, I gave my Husband some Airborne to take before our flight. He asked me how to take it and I told him to just swallow it. He drank some water with it and about choked. Well, I didn't read the directions. The poor guy is now traumatized about Airborne. Now see, if he had read the directions.....oh well  My bad!!

Jan~ nothing like a good cup of coffee to make you feel better.

Jan and all - get well soon!

My hubby travels to island about once a month. He takes Airborne a lot and doubles up with a Time Release vitamin C vitamin. We have kept the flus and colds to a minimum. Zicam probably works as well, although I haven't tried it yet.

Chicagoan - The kids do not like the Airborne for kids drink, but love the Airborne 'candy'. They make Airborne in a 'pixie stick' type way that tastes like candy. I definitely recommend that one over the effervescent tablet drink. My husband and I enjoy the night time Airborne a lot as it is a hot drink and tastes similar to a hot cider. Enough advertising, but honestly with all the travelers to island, the warm weather, and everything else - catching a bug is pretty easy on island. The viral pneumonia is a bit more common than I like (my baby had it once - Airborne is for 4 yrs and up). My husband caught strep throat once on island and the next test would have been for dengue fever. That is why now we all take vitamins and Airborne.

FYI - dengue is called 'bone break' fever and feels as if all your bones are broken. It is a lot more severe than a typical flu and I hope none of you experience it. Take your vitamins!!! And good health to you all!
