We have an "appointment" for Beach Therapy

Post by jimg20 »

We got our plane tickets for our next Beach Therapy appointment! :D :D :D We will be leaving home on Sunday, May 25 and returning Sunday, June 1. We'll miss the Beach Bar gathering both weeks  , but we had to give up something to get the rest. This also gives us a holiday which saves one of the five vacation days we would have normally used. :)

We need suggestions for a villa. There will be just the two of us on this trip. 8) We want to have A/C in the bedroom, but would give that up for a villa where it is not needed. A pool/hot tub would be nice, but we could get along without that too. I think we'd like to be closer to the North Shore, but that can change for the right place on another part of the island. Great views are always welcome. We would like to keep it under $1500. Is that a reasonable expectation?

We updated our ticker also. Let's see if this one moves any faster than the last one.

jimg - isn't it great to have your airline tickets? 8) 8) 8)

We'll be staying at Luna Vista in March. It's close to the north shore, reasonable, and I've heard good things about it. You might want to check out the website:

Luna Vista is on our list and it is available that week. I feel that I have to sign up for one of them soon while we still have choices.

Check out TimeOut villa. We're staying there in May & have heard great things from others about it. It's 2 bedrooms/2baths & you have the whole house to yourself...has pool & hottub, etc.

We stayed at "Livin'" last May. It is a 1BR, 1BA over looking Coral Bay with a pool and hot tub. The bedroom did have a/c. I think the price is just a tiny bit higher than you mentioned, maybe 1750/week for your dates. The views were great. It was close to many of the north shore beaches, salt pond, ... We loved it.
Congratulations on the countdown!! :D

Good for you, Jim! Now it's just wait, and wait, and wait....I'm thinking you should fill that void by going and buying some new camera equipment that you are sure to "need" for your trip. :D

Hi Jim,

I think Blue Caribe lacks A/C (don't know if you'll need it; everyone is different that way), and Time Out is on the south shore. Luna Vista is shared w/ owners.

Check out the Honeymoon Cottage at http://www.stjohnusvivillas.com/honeymooncottage.htm. I have not stayed there yet (DH & I will be there later this month) but it has A/C, north shore location (walking distance to Francis) and has a hot tub (no pool though) and gets good reviews. It may be over your price range but e-mail Terry -- if it is available, tell her your budget and see if there is anything she can do since it is low season. I will post a review when I get back in January.

Good luck!

Thanks for all of your suggestions. Although the door is still open to new places. We need to settle on one sometime next week.

Are there any more late returns?

Hi Jim-

Last June my husband and I stayed at Blue Aweigh (http://www.lavenderhill.net/cottage.htm).

The owners Paula and Eric are great. They live on the property and Blue Aweigh is a little guest house down the deck from them.

It's only been renting since 2006 so it's new, neat, and clean inside. The a/c works GREAT, there's a washer/dryer, pool, and hot tub...and the price is great, too.

The only requirement of yours that it doesn't meet is being near the North Shore.

Let me know if you have any questions...or do a keyword search for "Aweigh," as I've posted about it here before :)

Cute Cozy Cottage in Chocolate Hole

Try this one. Brand new to the market, but the owner has been around forever and knows what she's doing. Nicely furnished, comfortable, view, hot tub. No pool.

Another one you might consider is Starlit Escape (http://www.starlitescape.com/pages/1/index.htm). It's large for 2, but the price is in your range. I think there is A/C in the master bedrooms. Not sure of it's exact location - it maybe too far east. I have emailed the owners for additional info as it is on my very long list for the next trip.

Can't decide between Frank Bay (again), Chocolate Hole or Coral Bay; but have many of your same requirements.
