I just called Dest. SJ and Oceanport does not have any ac. She gave me a list of villas that are close to each other but I haven't looked at them. They are: Cococaribe, White Cottage, and Caramia; Viridean Garden and Indigo; and Hali Lani and Palm Hill. They all have ac in the bedrooms at least. I haven't checked them out yet, but thought I'd mention those for anyone who might know something about them. I've had my eye on Indigo for my family, but haven't made it there yet. I have no idea how many each sleeps, so they may not even be a consideration.
How does Jan. 1 sound for the deadline for a firm committment? Then we will know exactly how many bedrooms we'll need total, and can go from there. In the mean time we can look at all the possibilities out there. That is half the fun. Also, does anyone have a problem sharing a room with a stranger. It might mean sleeping in a queen with someone you don't know. Bug and I did that and it worked out fine. The perfect house probably won't have twin beds or a king in every room. Bug and I were almost snuggleing by the end of the week.

I'm good with January 1 - I'm good now.
What strangers are coming? I thought we were family.
I have no problems sharing a room/bed with anyone. I figured that's the way it would work so we could do it as cheaply as possible. I could borrow Don's seapac machine for any snorers
I had seen Vistaero and it looks very nice.
I agree that any final decision should be done via email and kept between us until TR time. I think I remember someone making that recommendation when you were planning the last one.
I've always been intrigued with the Schnell Beach villa and estate. I've emailed them for info, but think it may break the bank.
Have a great weekend everyone - it's going to be freakin' freezing here - with snow coming late Sunday.

I just checked out Vistero and it looks great. It is also mostly booked thru Oct. I called to see if there are open dates in Nov. and they were closed. My point is that a great villa like that will book up soon. Sometimes a year in advance. So do you all think we should up our committment time so we don't miss out on a great place. It will accomodate 14 max and that is with 2 sleeper sofas. I guess the big question is........do we want that many people in one villa or should we get 2 or 3 smaller ones. With Vistero, it is so reasonable that we could put 8 or so in that one and 6 or 8 (depending on how many we have) in a nearby villa. I have no idea what is nearby, but some of you might.
Betty has informed me today that she will not be able to attend this next year. We are all sorry to hear that. I know the 5 of us from this past trip are on board for next year and would love to reconnect our friendship by staying in a villa together.
I have received a few of your e-mails. We might all want to have a list of everyones e-mails so we can discuss details that we might want to keep private.
Should I start a new topic and say something like "here's the list so far, and if you want to jump onboard here's your chance to do it now"?
This thread is getting so long.
What do you think???

cypressgirl - I will send you my e-mail via a PM.
And I kind of think we should take it off the board now as we are mentioning too many villa's. Know what I mean?
Maybe I'm just skittish right now because we found that a homeless person spent the night underneath a deck of ours last night. He seemed okay, per my husband, I've not talked to him, but it has weirded me out. : (
