I think we will definitely need 2 villas. Can you see 16 women in one kitchen?

Just a thought on villas for you ladies...
If you end up needing two villas, Oceanport and Andante by the Sea appear to be in yelling distance from one another.

Go to the Destination St. John page to see Oceanport. The pic in the upper right has two villas with blue roofs. The one in the foreground is O.port and the other is Andante. Oceanport has a hot tub (no pool) but steps right down to Hart Bay. Andante has a pool and a hot tub.

Just an idea, the villa hunt is my favorite part of planning our trips. Have fun!

Thanks GQH.

Those look like they have just about everything that we want, need, have to have AND beach access to boot.

Only thing I couldn't find was if Oceanport had A/C.

I think b-as-ur has stayed there and can pipe in.

Hey there, me chiming in again. Okay, Oceanport is where I ended up staying in early May after having cancelled out the La Jolla Caribe villa. I absolutely loved this villa (great view and great price), but as stated, there is no pool and my recollection is that the hot tub wasn't working at the time. There are 2 near-identical bedrooms with king beds, one on the 1st floor and one on the 2nd and then there is another bedroom on the 2nd floor that has 2 twin beds. There is also an apartment underneath the house that has either a double/queen/king size bed and additional living space. The walk down to the ocean is a big climb, well at least on the way back up. I think I managed to do it twice during my trip and then threw all need for exercise out the window. (I at least try to start out with good intentions.) We could actually see the black rays in the ocean from the balcony and hearing the ocean at night put me right out. I can't say about a/c, because there was never a need to use any. The breeze from the ocean kept the whole house cool. There is a little backyard where the hot tub is and there's a bar and grill out there too. It's also in a really nice location if anyone likes to do early morning walking, as there are several connecting non-main roads. My husband and our friends also liked the villa very much, but they all felt it was just a little "tired" and in need of a little "tlc". Well, I didn't really get that feeling, but thought I should at least make the comment.) I can, however, also add that I did have some private e-mails with another forum member that was booked for Oceanport the week before, and they ended up having to leave the villa and relocate because it flooded on them. I do recall that one day we had some water on the first floor in a few locations after a short rainstorm, but it was definitely not flooded. We could always ask DSJ if this problem and the hot tub have been fixed. Ali~

Ksea wrote:Agreed sea-nile. I'll try to find those other villas. Here is a 3 villa combo that looks pretty good and affordable.
Great Views
3 pools, 2 hot tubs
Will hold 20 total: If we have 18 we could put 6 gals in each one.

Palm, Seawatch and Coconuts...1-3 minutes apart.
Caribbean Villas
I stayed at Coconuts from my honeymoon in Augsut 2005. The thrid bedroom is a loft above the great room with no A/C. Southern exposure sun all day, the great room got very warm. Plus side, the pool was warm all day. The three villas are all down the same dirt road just off of Gift Hill Road. Coconuts is the first.

Thanks for the info sailorgirl! Any chance that loft would be cooler in November? Do you think this might be a good option for us?

I couldn't hazard a guess. Ive never been to St John in the fall. I can say that to my recoolection there are no windows up that high so the possibilty of cross breeze in the loft is not good. Also with the loft above the great room then if there is acitivity in the great room below it will proabaly disturb the loft dwellers. Soenthing to consider. I think all three of these villas are configured the same way.

Yeah Sailorgirl I think you are right, I went back to look again. They all have a loft with no a/c. I have not been in the fall either so I can't imagine how hot the lofts would be. Thanks for the info, again!

It's really fun and exciting to discuss the villa options here...but once we get it narrowed down a bit more, a fellow forum friend suggested to me in a pm that we keep the selections secret. We never know who's lurking in a bad way. I promised to pass the message on to all the girls involved. Thanks fellow forum friend for the very wise suggestion!!
