Welcome and congratulations on your son's upcoming wedding. Sounds exciting. I can't think of a better place for a celebration. I'm sure you and your family will have a wonderful trip and make many good memories to share with each other over the years.

So sorry for the loss of your son. As a parent, I can't imagine anything worse. A wedding on STJ is a nice way to honor him, too.

As an aside, I have a 15 year old daughter. We'll have to keep in touch to see if we're ever there at the same time. She took a friend this year, but I don't know if we'll be that lucky in the future. She's a great kid, but hanging around all the time with old mom and dad can get pretty boring, I'm sure. :)

God bless.

Thanks to all of you for your warm welcome and kind words. We are looking forward to the trip. I like the planning part, it will help get me through the cold NY winter. I will post more on another thread. Thanks again, it means alot to me!

Cinny ~ WELCOME.
We really do live just for stories like yours that are unfolding. Feel free to share with us. God bless.
Just curious.... your location says Phoenix and your note said NY.

mahobayb-Phoenix,NY near Syracuse and I think I must be close to forumite onthelake. Pjayer, it would be nice to be on St. John the same time someone brought their teenager along. Hopefully my daughter won't get too bored with us. With her brother there and his wife-to-be she should be ok. Between the wedding, the snorkeling, the hikes and the beauty of it all I don't think I want to hear,"I'm bored!"

cinnyb - I'm sure your daughter won't be bored on your trip. Weddings are always fun. I was thinking more of my daughter when I made that comment. We may be on the island for one day in April, but I'm not sure yet. We're taking a cruise during spring break, and one of our stops is STT. We're leaning toward exploring there, since we've only visited CA and driven to Red Hook.

We hope to be on STJ for a week in late July or early August before school starts. Nothing definite yet, but I hope to have a ticker soon!

Welcome! I am jealous... I wanted to get married on St. John, it turned into our honeymoon instead. Sounds like you and your family is going to have a great trip. Don't forget to share the pictures :)

Welcome to the forum and welcome back to St John. The East End is beautiful. Make sure you catch a few of those sunrises over the BVIs. I know your son will be with you in Spirit. There's no better place in the world then St John to make that special connection. Have a great trip.
