I know people like cruise ships, but I can't imagine going on vacation with thousands of people. Nine was bad enough!

Lulu, I'm with you on the cruise ship thing. We took a 3 day "cruise" to Ensenada and other than the actual stop in Ensenada, we hated it. Of course, I'm sure there are much nicer ships and way better cruises out there, but we didn't like the feeling of confinement.

Nothing about cruise ships has ever appealed to me. If I want to gamble, I'll vacation in Vegas. They have all-you-can-eat buffets there too. And shows. No ocean, but that's OK; I'm claustrophobic and I tend to get seasick anyhow.

I know people like cruises, but I loved the way we did STJ - renting a house, renting a car and exploring. I don't see how you can "get" the Islands by coming in on a very structured expedition.

It's the limin' and the villa gravity that make STJ special. The fact that you don't have to have plans if you don't want to, and that's OK.
