Enjoyed your report and pics. Really liked the rainbow shot. Thanks.

The lemon Eucalyptus oil spray I made is working really well though.
Do tell! How did you make this concoction? I'm always looking for something that actually works :)

Does it work for no-see-ums too? Those are what really get me.

I second a call for the recipe. I get eaten alive by the bugs no matter what I use. Anything I can add to the arsenal is welcome.

http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/health/mo ... sectrp.htm

The above is a link to insect repellents and EPA. In my other post about mosquitos I forgot to add Picaridin which is a chemical repellent.

The article states that most products will contain 30-40% oil of lemon eucalyptus. You can buy pre-made stuff (but I find it too oily and messy to be applying when I am on the go). I looked up the ingredient that makes dry oil sprays dry. That is cyclomethicone and I bought it at the chemistry store on-line. I mixed 70% of this with 30% of pure lemon eucalyptus oil (approximately) and put it in a spray bottle. It is still a little oily but dries much quicker. Lemon eucalyptus does have a very potent smell but I sprayed it on a few mosquitoes that landed on the deck and it definitely immobilized them if not killed them outright. I sprayed the chairs outside and the screens too.
I've worked with lots of dangerous chemicals, biologicals and radioactivity and I just don't like DEET.

I don't know about the no see-ums. I try to get the heck off the beach by 3 or 4pm!
When will I see St John again?

If that gal in the yellow is your mom, you must be about 14. Tell her she's got a forum fan.

Nice report mrsb! We liked Dolphin Market too, and we also thought the prices were pretty good.

Mums the word. The only Dr. in my family is a vet. I don't think she can do that for me. :(
