Sending stuff ahead of time

Post by krislbi »

Hello all,
I know there has been some info on this in the past, but cannot seem to locate it so please forgive me for "re-asking" for the info...

We will be traveling with little ones in February so was wondering how we send down stuff ahead of time so we're not bogged down with diapers, few bottles of formula, etc. I thought I read somewhere that there is a flat rate for shipping certain boxes/weights?

Also, if we wanted to bring some food items, what is the best way to transport as a carry on? Or shoudl it be checked?
Thanks in advance! :)

Hi there! I know that Flip Flop sent a box ahead to Christy's using priority mail. She sent baby formula among other things. I think it's a great idea and am planning to do it next trip. We are not taking a cooler, but if we were, I would check it. Im sure others will give you more tips on that.

Hi Kris,

I shipped 2 boxex down priority mail and it arrived in 5 days. Other people said it took up to 3 weeks. I did the one flat rate box although they weren't very big and I think it cost me $11.00 I shipped a file size box down priority mail, can't remember the weight on it but in cost me around 25-30 dollars. I also got insurance on it for a couple of dollars and had it sent delivery receipt (I think that's what it's called). I am renting from Carefree Getaways and one of the girls there said to ship it to her personal PO Box because sometimes the ones that are shipped to the management company get held up for some unknown reason.

Good Luck!
