Lap Baby & online Check-in
Lap Baby & online Check-in
We have 4 reserved seats & are taking the baby in laps...mostly mine I am sure. Remember when we originally planned all of this he was to be on the inside.
Anyway, I am REALLY hoping that this won't screw with online checkin. I could be patient and just wait until tomorrow to see if it will let me, but I wondered if anyone had experience recently.
We are flying delta if it matters. I would hate to get held up, I don't think anyone would be able to handle it if I missed my flight! Perhaps, we'll just spend tomorrow night at the airport.

I called delta and they noted on my ticket that I would have a lap baby. We are checking bags, but we usually do the outside curbcheck and then just book to security/gate. I don't want to stand in line to check in or worse have our seats be given away because we haven't checked in yet.
She (Delta agent) said she wasn't sure if the system would let me or not, that all I could do was try. I was hoping someone had done it recently and could put my mind at ease, but I guess I'll know at 6:25 tomorrow morning!

Flip-Flop, I have flown with a lap baby several times, including to STT a few years back, so I know what you're going through. I worried about every little thing that *could possibly* go wrong. I don't believe we were able to check in on-line; not sure if it has to do with having a lap baby or traveling with children in general. Instead we made sure to get to the airport 1 1/2 - 2 hours ahead of time and have breakfast at the airport (it also gave me time for one last diaper change before boarding, ,etc etc). We do get our boarding passes at curbside check-in whenever we can - that's a big help.
When my kids were under a year, I would take the Baby Bjorn front pack on board to use during the flight as it was nice to have my arms free (per regulations, you have to take the baby out of it during take-off and landing, which never made sense to me). Usually the hustle and bustle of getting to the airport and then eating helped to induce a nice nap once on board

I thought we used Delta curbside check-in when flying "lap-baby" but Hubs reminded me that it was the first time he flew with a ticket. During his lap baby flying days, I always checked in at the counter to beg for a free seat so I am basically no help to you what so ever! Have a wonderful time though.
I am like ccasebolt - we get to the airport insanely early but I do realize not everyone is as wacky as me.
I don't think we had the option of curbside check-in (PHL) last time (we flew thru San Juan) or maybe we were there just too early in the morning.
