Hey Anthony can you help me please..... :)

Post by Pia »

I seem to be having a problem with the yellow bell  - each time I click on to read the new post that has been added to a thread, when I return back to the main page it is no longer resetting so it always shows a new post to a thread, so I end up reading the same thing over and over as I think there has been something new added (if this makes sense) I have tried logging out and back in and it works the first time but then it appears stuck again......help :)

Thanks

Pia

I had a similar problem last week and posted the same question under "My Bell is Broke". MrB suggested it was a cookie problem, but I don't have any idea how to fix it. In my mind, cookies are to eat and have nothing to do with computers.

It stopped doing it, so maybe yours will cure itself, too. If you find a solution, please let us know.

Here's last week's thread.

Yes it sounds like a cookies issue - we have had a rash of them lately and not sure if it is somehow connected to the server move or not. The forum has been configured to resolve to www.virgin-islands-on-line.com - before it wasn't and you could get to it with or without the www. I am thinking this has maybe thrown a wrench in users cookie files. The best thing is a total re-start of the computer. When you re-launch the browser, most times this issue will correct itself.
If you have a bookmark to the forum without the www I would trash that one and make a new one using the www.
Other than that, if you need help with a specific way to trash your cookie file and or empty your cache, etc. I will need to know your operating system and web browser.
