"Tiki" update :)

Post by Pia »

Hi everyone

I guess I should post this on the "new" "Off Topic" page but I'm not sure everyone is aware of that page yet or not, so I thought I would post here first.

Tiki is doing amazing . After the camera and the barium, it was found that she has an irregularity of the stomach and it was basically all rough - kind of ulcerated - instead of smooth :(

She was put on medication and now is almost back to normal - and eating....yeah - OK, she will only eat chicken breast that has been cooked, plain, on the BBQ, but she is eating :D

I just started to mix in wet food as well and she is taking that too.

Thanks everyone for all your well wishes - it is greatly appreciated.

I will post her picture once I get a good one of her as in most pictures she kind of looks like a "she devil" as she has blue eyes and it is really hard to get a good photo of her - but she really is cute and full of quirkyness (sp)

Thanks again everyone.

I guess I should change it to a chicken and mongoose diet - she just loves to catch them - unfortunately she is not aware of the "cath and release" program  )

Hey California Girl

Yep - they work as a team and catch (OK, kill) anywhere from 1 to 4 per week.

The National Park used to pay money for every dead mongoose you took to them (so I have been told) - no more unfortunately - I'm sure we would have soon been moving into Peter Bay with her level of activity per week

And yep, she is not much bigger

Sorry we didn't get to spend more time wth you when we were there. It was good to meet you though, even if it was brief. See you next Nov.

And, good news about Tiki. Yes, post some pictures on the OT forum.
