RickG, Missed you at the airport. We were on that AA flight when you walked up to check in counter that had a note taped on the sign "AA672 delayed to 7:00".
We would have missed our connecting flight in MIA.
Ended up taking a Cape Air to San Jaun and then on to MIA to make our connecting flight to IND. All work out just fine except:

Becky had to be the copilot

boarding pass printing...Important!
Great idea: All villa rental agencies should offer boarding pass printing as a service included with rental. Just another part of what they do.

Glad ya made it home safe and sound. Great meeting you and Chistine at the beach bar. Did the boarding pass thingy the night before it was awesome highly reccomend. Only thing AA came in two hours late so we had mucho time missed all connecting flights and got home at twelve midnight but arrived safe at home thats all that really matters. Were like Christine still brought cloths home and felt we finnally brought just enough down.

Ed, back in June I printed our boarding passes at Connections in Cruz bay...but still had to stand in line at check in for Delta. The lady there checked our passports and gave us new boarding passes and we checked our bags. Im not sure if we did something wrong or not. Should we have gone straight to security?? This time we are doing carry on only. Can anyone clarify any of this for us?
If you have carry on only and have printed out your boarding passes you go straight to security thus avoiding the ticket counter line.
If you have luggage to check you either
a) grab a porter and pay him thus no check in line b) use the self serve check in machine with a 50-50 chance that it is broken
so again no need to stand in the line
c) Stand in line thus you are no further ahead of the game having printed the passes earlier.
It really only benefits you if you have carry on only or plan on paying for a porter

I use a porter when I am on the 8:30am AA flight to Miami (only twice have I done that flight so far)
I catch the 6am ferry from STJ and I am at the airport by 6:50am. The first time I arrived it was hell at the airport - there must have been 200 in line
I saw a porter, grabbed him and was through Customs and Immigration and security and was eating my "made to order" omelet within 15 mins of arriving at the airport. The person who was in the taxi with me and stood in line made it through at 8:20am a full 1 1/2 hours later - I had 1 bag to check and I tipped him $20.00 (must admit the next time I did it, again with only 1 bag, I only tipped $10.00 but imho it is the best $10.00 I have ever spent, especially when arriving at the airport after drinking a super size coffee on the way - if you know what I mean
)
Hope this helps
