need info mamey peak villas

Post by papabou »

short version: bride's kept woman and has advised me that her love of west views from gifft hill and upper rockridge have been overcome by her aversion/fear of the obligatory drives to north shore beaches. so i must create a new short list for shorter drive to eastern end north shore. ac in bedroom required, high panoramic views desired, sunrises wasted on her.

seems like villas within close prox of intersection of north sh rd and centerline are a good place to start. i've located and id'ed villas near west end of ajax mt rd which are closest but can't seem to id any to north of center before rds intersect near smoothie truck. there seems to be several in area of 18 21N 64 44 05W on google earth. there's also one on other side of centerline in same area.

anyone got any names for me? we're flexible date wise nov thru may just need a list of new possibilites. thanks for any input.

Someone posted they stayed in a villa right near the smoothie stand. Can't remember the name of it, but hopefully they'll see this and post. That might be the ideal location for you.

I am terrified of the roads on STJ but found that if we took Centerline and came back around to the beaches I was better than if we took North Shore Road. I still have nightmares about that one hill on the way to Cinnamon Bay (especially the first time when we didn't know about it and barely made it!)

Try Coral Oasis - brand new on Mamey Peak. Just finished. We almost booked it but it didn't allow children under 8 http://www.vivacations.com/explore.aspx

lulu, i believe the one you mentioned is on ajax peak rd, maybe bayview or ixora. i've id those, some look promising others don't. i agree the route you mentioned, east bound on centerline and wast on north shore is easier drive. i've also listed terrahawk with a great location and west views but she's small, queen beds and no pool and then you have the hill from hell heading up to peter bay when you go to the eastern string of north shore beaches. bride's screams around that cutback are usually louder than horn.

nancyb, coral oasis is frantastic and looks like nfrom views, she's in area i'm interested in. she has everything we need except an affordable rate for 2. she's probably worth every penny but the bride and i are more in to the mid priced villas (and thus more frequent trips).

thanks to both of you.

I am with you on more frequent trips :) We try to bring another couple or two with us to off-set the price. If not, we're with you and stay in the more mid-priced villas. Happy villa hunting!

As you have probably found there are not many villas on Mamey Peak;there are many more on Ajax Mountain.

There are also a couple off Centerline Road that are not too far from the intersection, Mystic Ridge and Cielo Vista.

Even the Bordeaux Mountain Road villas are not too far from the North Shore Road turn.

Would Orion's Hill be a possibility?

thanks for all input. orions hill (on ajax mt rd) has been on short list as are aria and the following bordeaux mt villas: orchid knoll (like orions has fair west and sunset views depending on season), summer wind, espirit, and winsome house.

mystic ridge goes to short list for when we have another couple to help with costs same as coral oasis. usually when we travel with other couples we are NOT last minute travlers so usually have better selections. since bride and i fly nonrev space available out of atl, we do last minutes by our selves thus the need for a villa list to check for availability when flt loads look and our schedule is open.

come on folks don't hoard your goodies, someone out there has info on those villas in the curve to the left before the smoothie truck that show up on google's aerial view. share with papabou and his bride.

Most of those are private homes, but Viewtiful and Treetops are rentals.
