Leaving soon with a cold :o(

Post by Connie »

Pretty soon I won't even have a countdown!

On the 10th betweeen after we take the ferry over to STJ, we'll be writing in the sand about 8:30-8:30. Going over to rent from Noah's Arks. If somebody can't take a shot of that so we can see it when we get back, it would be appreciated.

Bad news is I've started a cold, which usually leaves me with a bad chest cold. I'm off to by some Zicam and I hope it works.

Hang in there, Connie and good idea about dousing yourself up with some meds. Try zinc oxide. I'm a firm believer of it.

Only 3 more days for you!! :)

I use goldenseal and echinacea and the first sign of a cold. It usually does the trick!

ccasebolt, that's what I'm hoping for.

Now husband is feeling a cold coming on. We're not going to let this get to us.

When I leave work at 5 on Tuesday, I'm officially on vacation!!!

Connie - I think salt water has tremendous healing power. This spring I went down with a head cold. As soon as I got there I went in the ocean, swam under water blowing out through my nose for as long as I could. Next morning I felt better. Did it again the second day and that was the end of my cold. So if you still have the cold in 3 days, give it a try! Have a great trip.

Try Blockade, by New Chapter.
Best to take right at the beginning, though.

I nipped a cold virus right in the bud last Tuesday. Was fine and healthy by the time I went away Thursday.

Connie - hope the cold doesn't last long enough to slow you down.

Try drowning it in rum...

Hope you and hubby get well soon and enjoy your trip. I've found the warm salt air always makes everything better, including those pesty sinuses. Have fun.

I always seem to get a cold right before any major event- including all four trips to STJ as well as my wedding!!

My Dr. reccomended Sudafed, Ibuprofen (Advil) and a nasal spray (Afrin) for the flying. Worked like a charm!

After 24 hours on-island, I was almost 100%. The sun, the humidity and the salt air really does do wonders!!

My little recommendation for your cold is this: first of all take your vitamins. We also take a time release vitamin C caplet. Wards off a lot of illness. Before flying and vacationing, buy some Airborne. It is a big dose of vitamins that boost your immune system. My husband travels once a month to the islands and has not got sick since taking Airborne. I like the night time Airborne as you make it hot and it tastes like hot cider. Hopefully that warm humid air will help you a lot! Good luck and have a good vacation.
