Restaurants - the people spoke

We've done a number of reader polls at News of St. John:

* Moderate dining in Cruz bay

* Places to splurge

* Top Coral Bay restaurants

Stone Terrace
Asolare
Chateaux Bordeaux

and Paridiso or Tage

If you HAD two to pick which would you choose?
The only thing I can comment on is the fact that if it's a view you're looking for, Chateaux Bordeaux has an incredible one! Arrive before sunset and watch the sunset from up there.

La Tapa is my favorite. Rhumb Lines is great as well. Also liked the Balcony. Beach Bar has great Tuna Bites! Chilly Billy's and JJ's have an awesome breakfast. This may be really sad, but by the time dinner rolls around I don't seem to be too concerned about the wine list. However, many places have great selections. Can't comment re: proper serving temp though. You'll have a great time.

Stone Terrace is my favorite of the more upscale places. For a more relaxed atmosphere try Shipwreck on the Coral Bay side of the island. Great food for a reasonable rate. For somewhere in between fancy and relaxed, I would suggest the Balcony (Great news for Families; they do allow small children -- they even have child seats).

Thanks for all the great restaurant info and experiences. Robin, I can't tell you how helpful your compilation of restaurant reviews was! It really helped to see it all on paper!

Well, it took me awhile but I finally decided on dinners while on ST John. They are:

Rhumblines
Asolare
Flavors St John
Beach Bar w/forum
Villa
La Tapa
Villa
Skinnys pre dinner/Chauteaux Bordeaux dinner
Sweet Plantains
Beach bar for cocktaiils with forum/Stone Terrace -dinner
I'm going to try to fit Paradiso in somewhere- not sure what night.

Now just have to figure out how I'm going to fit in all the snorkels, hikes and beaches inbetween eating!
