For me it's not really crying, but that lump in the throat, fighting the eyes welling up. Hubby knows not to say anything to me during this time, or I might start. I do this at the end of any wonderful vacation. It's worse when the kids are with me on the trip. When they are at home, I have seeing them to look forward to.

Hi. My name is Gromit and I am a crier!
I cry when:
1) I book my tickets for STJ
2) When I read a fantastic post about someone discovering STJ and who "get's it" for the first time
3)When I land, and
4)when I get back on the plane to go back home.
So there!

We got married there in May 03 (see screen name
) I did not cry when we left, yet I was sad. We went back for our 1 year anniversary in May 04, when we were on the ferry leaving on the way to St Thomas I did cry, a tear or 2. I thought it would be a very long time before we returned and it really made me said.
Lucky for us we were invited to a wedding on Tortola 2 years later (June 06) so we spent 3 days/2 nights on St John before heading over to Tortola.

No man that was your cologne bringing tears to my eyes
Always happy to make new friends!!!
I DID cry when I met up with FF on our last trip. They were there ahead of us and just seeing the peaceful look on her face and her arms outstretched to give me a big hug was enough to make me sob!!
Don't know why that memory sticks with me, but it's one of my fondest. Hugs to you FF!

Gromit - I feel you statement about FF.
When we went to Provo, T & C in 2004 for my mom's 50th B-day trip, my parents flew down ahead of us. Two days later we arrived and you would have thought based on the hugging, hopping around, and happy crying that we hadn't seen each other in years. (In the real world we live close to each other and talk all the time.)[/quote]
