This is my dinner tonight. It's my all-time favorite sandwich, sauteed mushrooms and shallots with gruyere cheese and dijon mustard. I only cook it on nights when John is out because I made it too much when we were in college and he declared a lifetime ban on it!
This counts as island food because I am finishing my trip report and listening to Inner Visions while eating it.

So... Remember this conversation? Jo Ann and Liamsaunt were asking about the Big Green Egg? Well on Friday I received a phone call from the Kansas City BBQ Society. It seems that I won a large Big Green Egg when I took a survey on their web site! Holy cow! I'm not sure when it will arrive, but I'm still a little stunned. I never win anything!Jo Ann - VA wrote:Does anyone have the 'green egg' smoker? I really really want one!

Ron - congrats on the Green Egg!!!
Tonight I did New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp but cheated using a packet of seasoning spice. I followed directions and left them in the shells when they were cooked but after I ate mine, I opted to peel the rest (except for the tails) and put them back in the sauce.
Oh and we started with artichokes...

Here are the shrimp fresh out of the oven...

Here they are on the plate with boiled new potatoes using crab boil in the water and a bit of butter and parsley on top. That is supposed to be French bread, but I accidently grabbed something else instead that I also overcooked a bit, but you need bread to soak up the sauce...

This is actually an easy dish that you can do at your villa
