Info needed for Coral Bay
Okay gang, we're getting close to our 4th trip to STJ, but our 1st staying in Coral Bay. We'll be in One Particular Harbor which I think is up a road near Island Blues.
Anyway, are there grocery stores? We like Skinny's, Vie's, Island Blues, Shipwreck, and will try Plantains (where is it by the way?). Is Crabby's the place to rent a dinghy?
Any info or experiences would be appreciated! We'll be there during full moon and thought about going to Miss Lucy's. Is that a pretty good evening?
I know lot's of questions.........thank you in advance

There are two places in Coral Bay for groceries. The first one is Love City Market. Small and crowded, very little produce but fairly good prices. The other is Lily's located above Aqua Bistro. They have a lot of groceries, sometimes they have relatively fresh produce. Also have cold cuts, cheeses and fresh chicken breasts. Liquor prices are higher than places in Cruz Bay. I have always found that liquor prices at
Starfish are high. Best places are Captain's Corner and Pine Peace market. Have a wonderful trip.

We ate at Plantains last summer and thought it was wonderful. The food was great. PIA had recommended that we eat there and we saw her and her husband the night we ate there. The restaurant is past Island Blues and is on the right side of the road. We loved staying out in Coral Bay. Have a great trip.

Crabby's is the place fopr watersports in Coral Bay. The owners are very attentive and helpful. I've always had a good experieince with them.
As the previous post mentioned, supplies and groceries can be found at Lily's in the Cocoloba shopping complex and Love City mini mart. FYI: there's usually a gang of sheep/goats behind Love City. Neat to watch. Hubby and I got all we needed between these two places and never went to Cruz Bay for groceries.
Sweet Plantains is on the same road as Miss Lucy's and Shipwreck. I think it's actually between the two restaurants.
Miss Lucy's Full Moon Party is very laid back with a live jazz-type band. As you probably know, there are few tables on the patio so get there early-bird...like an hour before the posted time.
Don't forget to try breakfast at the Donkey Diner (across from Skinny's). They also have a good-cheap pizza on certain nights.
Have a fantastic time!
Jan,
We stayed at OPH last December and fell in love with the Coral Bay area. OPH is a very pleasant villa; we especially like the breezes, they helped to keep the bugs away. We sat on the deck every night after dinner; it felt like we could reach out to touch the stars. It will be a beautiful vantage point from which to look at the full moon.....lucky you! If you have any specific questions about OPH feel free to email me. Have a wonderful trip.....mia

We will be in Coral Bay in May as well at the neighboring villa of Aria from 5/23 to 5/30. When will you be there?

We just returned from One Particular Harbour last week (sniff). You'll love it. Nothing to add to the above advice, but for restaurants also try Chateau Bordeaux. It wasn't open the week we were there, and neither was Sweet Plantains, but hopefully by now they are back in full swing. They are both terrific places.
Have a great trip! I've already booked for next October, and hoping to sneak in a visit before then.

Hope this helps, we have wanted to try it out the past two times on St. John...but it was closed. We're looking forward to having dinner there in February
