Pia - So happy to hear it. I am glad there are others out there that have as big a soft spot for critters as I do. My friends and family know me as the girl that picks up something on the way to work at least once a month, runs out in the middle of the interstate to save dogs, risks getting Sarcoptic mange to bear hug a big stray dog so I can wrangle it into my Jeep (my staff put caution tape across my door for weeks...ha ha...very funny...), and spends half her paycheck on vet bills for animals she'll never own. Heck, once I picked up a really ugly little dog on the way to work and had no choice but to drop him off at the shelter (because I had to go to work). I felt so bad that by the end of the day, I went back and paid $125 to adopt him back out and gave him as a gift to a friend. You have a good heart for animals! I love it. Keep us posted on Tiki.
Hi everyone,
Thanks again for all your good wishes.
We thought we had maybe "turned the corner" with her this am but she just started being sick again
The good news (if you can call it that) is that we grilled a chicken tender for her (she has to be on a bland diet but has not eaten the turkey, canned chicken or the rice we cooked or the prescription dog food) and she just ate a 1/2 teaspoon of chicken - wow - we are hoping maybe now we have really turned the corner - she is still drinking as of theis am so that is a great thing.
Next vet visit tomorrow
Thanks again everyone

Pia,
I just hate it when dogs we love so much get sick. I do hope that Tiki is well on the road to recovery. Just this past Saturday we picked up our 6 week old yellow lab from the breeder-it's so wonderful to have a dog in our house. Of course, the day after she arrived my husband left for STJ to fix up the boat for the up coming season. Keep us posted!

Pia-
Glad for the update. I was quite concerned yesterday, as I'm sure you could tell.
I'm sure the vet gave her IV or subcutaneous (under the skin) fluids? It seems the recovery from the stomach/intestinal stuff is little by little for the first few days and then they regain their strength and hit a turning point. I certainly hope that is the case for Tiki.
Keep us posted.
