I guess my points got misconstrued since I have started one way and finished another.
I am not suggesting that anyone do a CD or purchase the BB to help Alan.
I am saying The Beach Bar is a cool place and that someone that loves the vibe there should buy it (since I imagine it will go up for sale with Alan having to pay 400K + in fines) and continue with live music and such. As opposed to it being sold in a fire sale and becoming another rum hut.....
That was my point about when Todd and Chad got Woody's from Woody they did not really change much.
I just think it would be sad if BB was no more and no more Sunday jazz and tuna down and the people that work there would have to be situated somewhere else........It is toooooooo cool a vibe to lose on a island that is at a point of no return with too much development in too little space........jmho

I guess I was just reading the responses wrong. I would contribute to the cause if someone needed the capital to buy it, but I would have to have an open tab when I was on island......wait, no one in their right mind would let me drink for free, they would go out of business.Lulu76 wrote:Oh, I don't want anyone to misunderstand me. I don't want to raise money to help him keep his business. I think that people who knowingly defraud the government and/or their consumers, stockholders, etc. should not be allowed to have businesses. I haven't bought anything from Martha Stewart since her little dalliances.
However, I love The Beach Bar. My suggestion of a CD (which was totally tongue in cheek and was a jab at the little man with the big hat), was for all of US to save the Beach Bar. We like it, and if there were gobs of money sitting around, I'd buy it. Since I doubt that any of us are wealthy enough to pick up the tab, I thought maybe fundraising was the answer.
Just to save The Beach Bar, not its owner.
I think all us forumulites should pool our money together and turn it to the MILF DILF BAR! Wet tee contest everynight at sunset for the guys, wet fruit of the loom tighty whities for the gals.Have to make sure its warm water for the tighty whitie contest. Happy hour 4 till close. Buy 2 drinks get a lap dance free. And Kenney sings Island tunes every Monday to keep the place hoppin on the slow day. Whata ya'll think?

nothing is wrong with 'the rum hut. I said 'another' rum hut as in we do not need a duplicate......BB has its own vibe, just like woody's is different then quiet mon.......Verve wrote:What's wrong with the Rum Hut?designbyroe wrote:As opposed to it being sold in a fire sale and becoming another rum hut.....
