Do any of you know of the Flavor event at the Westin. Is it going on this year and if so how can you buy tickets? Have you ever been and details, details!

Yep - "Flavour of St John" is being held on Saturday 17th November at the Westin and is (I think) $100.00 pp. You can buy tickets from Connections for sure.

Hope this helps

Pia, What exactly is Connections and how do I get in touch with them? Have you ever been to Flavours. Is it worthwhile/entertaining?

Connections is a "shop" where people send packages etc. They are on the corner opposite the First Bank just as the one way street starts. Their number is 340-776-6922

I have been once and will probably go again this year. The year we went it was very good. All of the restaurants (La Tapa, Tage, ZoZos, Banana Deck, Stone Terrace, Lime Inn, Morgans Mango.......etc) were there with one, two and sometimes more of their famous "dishes" and you could just wander from booth to booth. The music was going on when we left and there were some mighty drunk local "ladies" lettin it rip when we left....wow

Overall, a good experience and great way to sample most if not all of the STJ restaurants :)

Gromit was just telling me about this today. You can contact Joan Bermingham [jlberm@msn.com] for more info.

We are definitely considering it. $100 isn't cheap, but it is a great opportunity to taste a bunch of restaurants. I also read wine is included!

Joan is the current President of the Rotary Club of St John which puts it on.

Here's a quip from out Rotary bulletin. "Mark your calendar for the fund raising and socio-gastronomic event of the year! Over 20 restaurants represented. This year will benefit scholarships, Kids and the Sea (K.A.T.S), and other community projects."

Your donations are graciously accepted. This is probably the 6th or 7th, I have lost track. Usually an event not to be missed, if you are in St John. I will be there. I may even be the MC one more time!

Thanks Ron,

My husband and I will be there. Hope to meet you there as well. I'm assuming the dress is island casual.

The dress is (usually) "Island Fancy" - it gives us a reason to dress up :)

Will a little black dress with strappy sandals work? What about for the hubby-Kachies and a nice shirt or is it jacket fancy?

No need for a jacket! For a coupla years in the beginning I wore a tux with shorts! Now, just a nice shirt and slacks will do. The ladies do like to dress up though as Pia says.
