Mojito help

Post by Lulu76 »

Hi all,

I wanted to make those cruzan black cherry mojitos with the rum I brought home with me, however I need some help. Maybe some of you might have some answers for me.

First of all, I know that Rose's makes pomegranate and mango mojito mixes, but do they make a plain mojito mix just in case I can't find fresh mint anywhere? We'll call that plan B.

So, this is the important question: Anyone have any idea where a girl can get some fresh mint leaves this time of year? (I know I can get them at Josephine's, but I'm home now. :( )

Lulu,

Yes, Roses makes a plain one. We can buy them at Target (At least you can here in California)

Good Luck!

Do you have Publix supermarkets there? I just bought some recently here.

I get mint in the herb section at either Whole Foods or Publix........I would think even Harris Tweeter or Kroeger should have mint Lulu.
Then just mix the mint with simple syrup and I take some lime pulp too.......then I just add my ice and then my rum.......

There's no $ sign on a peace of mind, this I've come to know

Here in New Jersey, some supermarkets carry fresh mint but if you have any "produce" stands or stores they always have it. I brought a very large bag of mint last weekend for $1.50. I was trying new recipes last weekend and found that Apple Cruzan or Bacardi make the Mojitos very sweet.

I bought a bottle of Rose's mojito mix in case I don't find fresh mint at Kroger tonight. I had my mind made up about mojitos and I love the mango and passion fruit mixes, so it should be OK as a plan b.

Target also has those little booze buckets that you just add rum and we got those to take to Halloween party tomorrow night. I'll report back on them.
