Disclaimer: this entire post is tongue in cheek knowing that posts can at times come off harsh vs. funny and sarcastic.

First of all, just so we are clear Chicks Rule!

So we post a little too much about make-up and hair products ;) I, personally, try to make it really simple for the fellas (I am married to a guy so I know things need to be simple) and make it REALLY clear in the Subject if its girl stuff. If you choose to open the thread that says "Beach Hair Stuff" then ... well you get what you deserve.

Interestingly, there have been several posters who I thought (assumed) were men from their screennames only to find later that they are not dudes.

I digress, what were we talking about. Boys, bring it on. We are STJ lovin' women we can take it. And if we don't like what you say we can give a nice virtual slap. Though some of you might like that  Seriously, I love this forum. I've checked the "other forum" out of curiosity lately, esp. when I heard there are fights. Everyone likes a good fight. I feel like the regulars and the lurkers here are nice and for the most part get St. John.

I promise to be less posty after my trip. I just can't help it. I AM OBSESSED.

I'll admit I've been feeling the same thing lately. I think it was the gift exchange that had me shaking my head. I know there's nothing wrong with it, it's good that people feel connected and develop friendships. The SOTB thing is a hoot, and I'm jealous of what you ladies have put together. I think maybe part of the problem for me is just that there haven't been a lot of trip reports lately, and in lieu of actually talking about travel experiences, we find other things to discuss. But I really like Jorge and Kirk and Rick, and the vibe they bring to the board. And I really appreciate Pete for bringing this up, I've thought the same things but knew it would come out snarky if I tried to broach the subject.

As for the MILF matter, I remember vividly the moment of my enlightenment. I was walking through the Pittsburgh airport, and a good looking 40-ish mom and her 20-ish good looking daughter were walking toward me, and I realized I was more attracted to the mom. I had to sit down for a moment and catch up to the changes my brain had involuntarily revealed to me about my advancing maturity...

In my humble opinion....we need each other. We are OK on our own but when you put a mix of girls and guys together, it really spices things up a bit. Most girls will not talk "trash" on their own in fear they will be looked at a slutty or easy. But, notice that when a guy starts the talk, we are more than willing to chime right in

I have already said in several posts that I will be first in line for auditions at the MILF bar. I am not above using what I got to get ahead. Heck, in real life we sell ourselves ever day - wether we know/admit it or not. The management team I work with is all men and little ole me. Talk about having to use you assets to be heard :!: NOTE: I do NOT believe that "assets" are all about body parts but more of personality!

I too miss the laughs and banter on our forum. I PM'd Jorge (Horhey as I call him because of one of the very fist posts I read by him that ended up making me laugh for days and kept me coming back)and asked him to bring his whit and charm back to us. Horhey, if this doesn't show you how much we love you than nothing will!!

Bring it on Boy, I am ready

I've been thinking more about this. Things have been a little quiet lately. A lot of the discussion has been driven by the folks with upcoming trips. I'd love to hear some more and different voices. Augie's and liamsaunt's trip reports are great for me, with different perspectives and experiences.

Sometimes we forget how many people are out there reading what we write without participating.

Cheers, RickG

Hey RickG- When is your flight?

I find that a lot of what I learn here is not at all what I come in seeking. I have picked up so much information that I feel like I've been to St. John 100 times. I wish!

I know that some people didn't like my ornament exchange idea, so what. If you don't like it, move on. I was not changing the vibe of the board, just seeing if anyone had any interest. (which, btw, many people do) and I was a little annoyed w/ some of the snarky comments I received.

Ruth will be able to vouch for me on this one, I am not a group hug kind of girl. I am a raunchy, b*tchy, no holes barred woman. I miss the more vocal members posting their humor and commentary but I don't think that there is anything wrong with acting like a "family" once in a while.

As someone who has worked with a lot of catty-ness, please let's not have a cat fight. But y'all (hehe) have taught me a lot and welcomed me and if that's group huggy, then I guess it is what it is.

As for powertools, I have two cordless drills but it's only out of necessity. I'd rather let a man use them any day. Especially if he had some good one-liners and nice taste in beer.

What a great thread...a chance for the male members to voice opinions on great subject matter, like a M.I.L.F. Bar. Where do you purpose this bar be located? Cruz Bay or Coral Bay? Better keep it in the Cruz area...less driving back to most villas after a night with those hot MILF's.

Sign up my wife...another hot fortysomething.

OK, since no one is brave enough to actually state what MILF stands for, here you go...

M--Mean
I--Insensitive
L--Liberal
F--Female

Yep...thats my wife. And I'm one lucky dog.

NEWGUY RESPONDS

Post by HOG2000 »

Hi everybody!!!
As someone who has recently joined the forum, i can say that one of the attractions to this discusion board is the friendly nature of everyone.

Are their some chick topics, sure but hey what are you going to do its all part of the fun.

I can say that if it were not for my wife half the things we do would not get started if it were not for her. Dont get me wrong i am not lazy but she is the cruze director of the family.

All i can say is thanks guys for giving me a place to look at and keep up the excitment of our STJ :D trip. :D

OK, already, The "cat fight" thing really was said with tongue in cheek. Connie, I occasionally lurk on the "other" board, rarely post, and I like the general spirit of this board. Vickie, thanks for the compliment regarding laughs. Even when things have gotten spirited on this forum I have always tried to keep my Bohemian opinions humorous, though not always successfully. Other then when I get a crappy attitude when it comes to the over developement and exploitation "written down as a progress demand"[thanks Mr. Prine for the quote], I usually stay pretty positive here. Xisland girl, speaking for myself, you're a huge example of why I lurk here. Now, shoot with all of the comments about how great he is, Jorge won't be able to fit into the MILF bar because his head will be too big.
And, Pete.... you're a trouble maker!
When you find yourself in a hole.... quit digging.

Hey I'd like to announce live auditions at the Beach Bar Sunday Nov 4th. Come one come all will be a great time for all. Auditions from 4 till ?????. We will also have auditions for DILF'S as we are an equal opportunity employer. Ruth or Pia can ya get the BONGO BOYS involved with this? Would love to get some free publicity for the up and coming hottest bar on St. John.

And this thread is what makes us different but so compatible.

Guys will be guys and gals will always be there to keep you in line.

I'm not a fru-fru type of gal. I'd rather be in comfy shorts, t shirt and flip flops. God, I hate the winter and trying to put on tight shoes and walk around in them.

As long as we generally get along and give good information for the islands, I'll stay here.

Like other boards, and what I do...if the topic doesn't interest you, go on to another topic.
