In the less Girly Spirit Which Cordless Drill and Which Beer

Post by captainjay »

Since we are trying to be less Girly. Which cordless drill do you own?

Which bear, available in the Virgin Islands, makes you less likely to burb or expell other unmentionable bodily gases? :?:

Jay

PS I am going to work now and plumbing a bathroom for a client. GRRR

I'm desperately searching for one in pink. :)

As to your other question, just take lots of Beano before you start swilling.

My favorite is the blue floral cordless make by Pink in the UK. And beer is too fattening. How about a nice Diet Coke with an umbrella and a bendy straw?

Now, how about a hug?

I have a Makita and a Dewalt as well as a Black and Decker firestorm set that I take with me to Maine for projects.

I just got a growler from our local brew pub, their IPA.

Manly enough??

I don't know the deal with guys and drills, but I suspect its a little like the experience we women have when we walk into Sephora.

All I know is the huge, heavy, cordless 18v bright orange drill that my husband received for Christmas one year went over VERY well. I got major brownie points.

He was all "How did you know to get this one?" Me: "I just asked the guy at home depot which one he'd want."

I have a Black & Decker and I would recommend Corona with lime.

Anyone wanna talk baseball? I'm a Sox fan. I listen to WEEI. Watch NESN. Am NOT a "pink hat".

I hate it when I wanna talk Sox with guys and am ignored or am made to feel that I don't know what I'm talking about and then five minutes latrer one of the jerks makes the same point and all the other guys practically smack his ass and tell him "good point".

A true test of a man is one who is not made uncomfortable by a woman talking sports. And even if she does make a bad point, he discusses it with her instead of laughing at her.

Whew! I think I'm a little punchy this morning- up late watching the game.

My cordless drill is DeWalt, and the saw a recently bought for a woodworking project is a Black & Decker. As for beer, my favorites are Landshark with Lime, Dos Equis (in the green bottle), and Red Stripe. 8)

Regarding beer, I have to tell everyone that the guys at Virgin Islands Brewing Company are brewing a new one at the Tap Room. It is a wheat beer, and it is DELICIOUS! Everyone should stop in and try it.

I also pronounce that "lite" beers and pink baseball hats are for wimps. GRR! :P

Okay, I don't know about the drill thing and I don't drink beer, never really acquired the taste for it, but my husband did get me a new (large deck) lawn mower for Mother's Day. I'm in charge of the mowing and have several acres to cover, so I was actually pretty happy with it. He recently bought me my very own pair of working gloves, so that I could help out where needed in the building of our new house. And I go to the gym and sweat real sweat too. Is that less girly enough? (Okay, so I do get regular pedicures and get my hair highlighted and cry over sad movies; all in all, I feel balanced). We love you guys.........just BE-AS-YOU-ARE, and lets not lose sight of the fact that we're all here because we share a common bond -- the love of STJ. We're all on the same page...we all get it!
STJ - I "get it"

This is going to sound so non-pc or feminist, but I married a guy who makes certain I will never need a drill. I am an independent woman, but I picked someone who complements my skills. He can't match an outfit to save his life, and I don't do tools.

I wouldn't have been attracted at all if he wasn't resourceful. I want him to be able to fix stuff, change my oil, open the jar, climb on the roof. A man's man, who's not an a#$. That's all.

Of course, he always (being a ray of sunshine) tells me I am so screwed if he dies. 1) No one else can put up with me and 2) I can't put up with anyone else. I routinely tell him, as a complement, that he annoys me least of all people. Seriously!
