Hiking question
Been checking out some hiking and I thought Rams Head would be nice. Only hiked one trail and that was across from Cinnamon and was an easy one.
This one looks about 3 miles long. I'd love to do it, not sure about husband. He'll go if I want to, but I just don't want it to be too hard.
Anybody have an opinion on this hike or a different one?

Definitely start early for Ram's Head and bring lots of water, a hat and sunscreen.
A short hike we enjoyed late one afternoon in May is on the Caneel property. We parked and went to the activities desk and got a little map. I think the sign said Mary's Point or something like that. Its out on their property past the restaurant, near the fitness trail. It's described in one of the STJ guidebooks, but under a different name. Nice walk through the woods, then along the water. Also enjoyed strolling through the Caneel property on our way to/from the car. Lots of nice trees, open areas with deer grazing.

Check out the downloadable trail maps and information on www.trailbandit.org for lots of great hikes.
Hey Connie
There are two trails at Cinnamon and it sounds as if you did the nature trail hike (pretty easy but very nice) The other is more of a challenge but among my favourite hikes to do - if you can get over the first 4 mins which is a killer
- it takes about 40 mins up to Centerline Road and about 30 to come back down. To me it has a nice "rain forest" feel to it (in a loose sense as I have never been in the rain forest ha ha)
If you do Rams Head do go early as, just like everyone else has said, it gets hot, hot, hot.

Connie, I don't think Ram's Head is three miles. According to the NPS sign at the trailhead, it is one mile. But, it certainly felt a lot longer than that to me when we did it on our first trip!
In addition to going early, make sure you bring LOTS of water. I think we brought 1/2 gallon each, and we drank all of it and wanted more by the time we got back to our car.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
