Wow Steve – you’re off to a great start. The new ferry terminal looks great. Like you – I remember when it was a couple of huts to get your tickets. The first time, we were on our honeymoon and took a day trip to STJ. There was a lady selling tickets to the BVI and no in the STJ booth. The 5 min. before the ferry arrived she closed up the BVI booth and opened the STJ booth. She must have had duel citizenship. Great pics buddy – don’t stop now.

I have to admit...I was kinda sad to see the inside of the new ferry terminal...it is so...well...new!!! and modern. I loved the old wooden booth, and the little beverage huts and how you could just stand around and drink a brewski while waiting.

I loved the '1st installment'! Makes me smile thinking about that feeling when you first get off the ferry and ... you're there... on St John!!

What a great trip report! I can totally relate to the excitement. We did the same as you, promised ourselves a real St. John trip after a cruise stop and then we made the first drive past the Westin with Carefree in May of this year. We were at Villa Capiz and our jaws did indeed drop as we saw that view for the first time. Can't wait to read more!

Great start, Augie! Thanks for the pictures of the new ferry terminal. It looks nice. We used Caneel's ferry so did not get to see the new terminal this time.

The view from your villa is awesome.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Augie,

What an awesome first trip report! The Red Hook Terminal looks brand spanking new (finally!). Bet you were grinning liking idiots when you got out in Cruz Bay (we always are!). Keep your experiences coming, it's great to see STJ through "new" eyes! :D
