Movies filmed on/around St, John?

Post by snorkelqueen »

We just watched "The Four Seasons" because of a note seen here on the forum. It was great looking at Gibney! Does anyone know of other movies we might find that were filmed on island (or near island)? Watching these may ease the pain of having over 8 months on my ticker! :(

I bought a movie called Bare Essentials with Gregory Harrison, Mark Linn-Baker (Perfect Strangers), and Lisa Hartman because it was filmed on St. John. It was stupid, but I really enjoyed seeing St. John. I would offer to send it to you, but I have no clue what I did with it.

Open Water has shots of Trunk Bay and Cruz Bay, but I would not recommend it.

Christopher Columbus: the Discovery was also partially filmed on St. John. The production company paid for the construction of the original toilets and changing stations at Hawksnest as partial payment. Again, though, not the best movie around.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Who can forget that classic, "Weekend at Bernie's II"??! Filmed in St. Thomas (Stouffers at the time and downtown) and supposedly St. John. Boy, that Andrew McCarthy is such an underrated actor. :lol:

For stuff like this I like to use the IMDB.com web site- lots of great info.

Here's the link to movies shot on STJ on IMDB:

http://www.imdb.com/List?locations=St.+ ... nds&&tv=on

As for all movies or TV shows shot in the USVI, here are the search results:

http://www.imdb.com/List?endings=on&&lo ... %20Islands

I imagine that you'd really want to have to film here because it's a pretty expensive filming location as locations go.
*Another fine scatterbrained production

Its not out yet, but Brangelina was there recently filming Brad's upcoming movie. Curious Case of some man's name. Helpful, aren't I?
