pop-up beach cabanas

Post by naturegirl »

Has anyone ever used a pop-up beach cabana? I will need some sort of protection besides sunscreen as my poor irish, freckled, sensitive skin cannot take the tropical sun for too long. I was wondering if it would be easier than carrying a beach umbrella.

We took one in 2006 for our son. I bought it off Amazon for about $25 or $30 and it folded down into a round disk, very nice from travel. Unfortunately, too many rum-induced mis-folds warped the frame, making it useless.

For 2007, I upgraded to a travel beach umbrella than breaks down to a 22" sleeve with a nice carry case. It had two seperate anchor systems to secure it in the sand. We did not have any problem with wind as our ex-Marine planted it securely.

We've taken kiddie sized ones that work great. "Nap time, go to your hut!"

Hey, PA Girl, where'd you get the folding beach umbrella? Sounds like a great idea.

This is the model and the current sale price is a good deal too -

It fit into our gear bag with no problem.
