Best lobster dinner
Oh and the only place I've had lobster on island is at the Lime Inn. They're OK here. But pretty expensive IMHO. Plus the caribbean lobster can be tougher than what most are used to.
I find though that there are so many other great seafood options available that I like to go with something out of the blue and leave the Lobster for home when I can buy them at $7.99 a lb!!

*Another fine scatterbrained production
I'm from New England- Maine lobster rules!
If there's special occasion and we're not serving filets (steaks), we're serving lobster (often accompanied by steamers- yum!!)
Hubby and I went to Chateau Bordeaux and I had the lobster tail with handmade (homemade?) pasta and it was pretty good. The tail was sliced into medallions and wasn't as tough as I was expecting.
Not worth the $$ but I'm a little spoiled when I can drive down the street and pick up a coupla two-pounders, a coupla pounds of steamers and feast at home!!

I live in Nashville, and I've yet to find good seafood anywhere in this town. Anywhere.
That being said, I pretty much ate fish and seafood all week when I was there, except for my cheeseburgers at Skinny's. The lobster is tougher than it is on the eastern coast, however, the one I had at Morgan's Mango was great. (And it was served with filet, for whoever mentioned that). I had never had it grilled before and I really liked it. The key lime pie, however, was just so-so.
The price was a bit expensive, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and thought the food was good. I think it must depend on when you go because some other girls staying in our house had gone there the night before and weren't impressed, and we loved it.

When we went it was open to anyone willing to pay $60 for dinner.Gromit wrote:It's my understanding though that the Caneel Bay Buffet is only open to guests -- or is that one of their other restaurants?

5 lb. lobster. I KNEW I liked you. And my first experience with Maine lobster was this summer at the Lobster Festival in Rockland. You Maine people ROCK!

I second the McLean Palm. Its my standard business lunch location in NoVA and does a great job. There's a ton of steak houses in the area, but I like their seafood and salads a lot. Plus, they keep a client database and give points!
Ahem, I have not actually had a 5 pound lobster at lunch there. Gromit, how's your expense account looking this week? I have a meeting at a Tysons Corner law firm Wednesday afternoon and could use a snack before hand!
Cheers, RickG

HA. isn't that funny!!!! Everyone in my family LOVES them there. We always take the trolley there a few times a season and drink up. Me - somehow not a fan but they make great Pina's Colada's and Bloody Mary's!jmq wrote: And one of the best Rum Punches I ever had was at Barnacle Billys in Perkins Cove Maine. Go figure.
