Tom is the person that immediately came to my mind. You can't have over 1000 posts and not do just a little report  .
Going "home" again October 26th!

Lulu has been swamped at work, and she's just too tired to do it right now. Tomorrow, maybe?

The following trip report is fictional and the names have been changed to protect the innocent or guilty. The report is just a fix – repeat, just a STJ fix and is not true.

Well, the day has finally come that we’re off to our long awaited vacation on STJ. We jump in the car at 2:30 AM and trudge through 42 feet of snow to get to the only air strip within a thousand miles of where we live. We breeze through security because the one and only security guard is asleep at the coffee machine.

“Scare Air” arrives right on time and because it’s just us and another crazy couple – they give us triple frequent flyer miles. We spend the first day in air – the second day in air and finally arrive on STT on the 3rd day. To our amazement – our luggage made it too.

We decide to rent the Jeep on STT and take the car barge over to STJ. Just for the thrill of it – we decide to drive on the right. Oh man, did we tick-off a lot of “Island Folks”. It didn’t matter how many times I started off the conversation with “Good Morning – how are you this morning.” I was yelled at in languages I never knew existed.

We made it to the car barge just in time to drive on forward. My Jeep is now headlight-to-headlight with the car in front of me. OK, so I was to back-on the barge, I’ll just back-off when we get to STJ.

Arrived on STJ and are met by our villa agent who is also the mosquito control guy for the island (good to know). He takes us all around the island looking for our villa – at last he finds it - we find out that he’s new to the job. It’s OK, we’re here.

The villa is great – has a roof, walls and windows. Luxury compare to our digs back home. So we dump our stuff and head to the beach. I remember someone saying – Take this trail for about a mile, turn left at the big “Poison Tree”, continue on for about another mile, turn right at the iguana and go down the hill – the beach will be 3 miles to the left. We make it to the beach just as the sun is going down – Ah, a beautiful sight.

The next day we decide to go into town and get something to drink. So, we hop into the jeep and head to town. Low and behold, we found a new town on STJ. It’s called “Iguana Pass” and has two bars and an Iguana Food Station. So we decide to do the “Pub Crawl” to both bars. We later found out that they were both owned by the same Iguanaan.

Well, the pattern pretty much repeated it’s self for the next few days and the trip back home was the same as coming down – just in reverse.

Hope this made you laugh and gave you your STJ Trip Report Fix. Just having a little fun til we all can get back to the islands. Have a great day everyone.

Great 'report' !

Only that 4 letter word 'SNOW' ... you must watch your language on the Forum. :) We have seen 42 inch of snow but not 42 Feet.

It does remind me of my 1st trip to St John. Temp was 19 when we left Syracuse and 89 in St. John. It's makes me smile to think about that 1st Trip.

I bet you all have first trip memories to share???

Have a great day 8)
