romantic restaurant on st thomas?

we just booked a week to st. thomas nov 24 - dec 1.my girlfriends birthday falls within this week and was just wondering what some of your suggestions would be to have a nice meal.something near or on the water would be great. thanks

It has been awhile since we've dined on St. Thomas but, our favorite place was the Blue Moon at Secret Harbor. I truly believe you'd have a wonderful meal with great service and lovely view (it's just off the beach). Go a little early, have a cocktail on the terrace and watch the sunset.

Deb and are partial to Mafolie's its not on the water but you can see about as much water from there as anyplace I have been on the island and the food has always been good.

I haven't tried any of them yet but Yachthaven has several restruant at there new marina at Havensight. They are getting good reviews from what I have seen and will be on the waterfront. Another place we always have fun at is the Greenhouse in Charlote Amalia. Not realy a birthday romantic kind of place but we do like Tickle's at Crown Bay Marina and Molly Mallone's at Red Hook. Also at Red Hook above Molly Mallone's is Whale of Tale.

All of the above are very good suggestions. Robert's at the Elysian Beach Resort is one of our favorites. There is inside and outside dining,and is right on the beach so you could stroll the beach with your after dinner drink. The owners are fantastic folks and really take care of thier quests, we've had many dinners at Roberts and have not been disappointed, the She Crab Soup is outstanding.

Having one (or two or...)of Pages frozen drinks is a must.

Havana Blue.

Its a trendy, intimate cuban style restaurant right on Morningstar Beach. Always waves there so you hear them crashing on the beach. Its all open air with long white shades that add to the ambiance. Its a bit pricey (say $100 per couple?) but very worth it. It will be a definite stop for us in a month!!

Schnell do you have any idea if Havana Blue is anywhere near the Ritz? We are staying there night 1 and are looking for a place for dinner for the hubby and myself.

Check out the Agave Terrace at the Point Pleasant Resort (http://www.pointpleasantresort.com/poin ... dining.htm). It's high on the mountaint and has a great view. We stayed at Point Pleasant for our honeymoon and were going to dine at Agave Terrace - but a little too much rum got in the way that day.

FF, the Ritz is closer to Red Hook and Havana Blue is closer to town (CA, Havensight). I'd say it's a 15 minute drive.

Thanks Jerseyboy. Our package at the Ritz includes a $100 credit (which made it more appealing) so I think we'll probably end up being lazy and dining by the pool after a long day of travel ... esp. once Gram & the babies are snoozing

Think the "fine dining" at the Ritz is now called Bluwater and it is really quite good. The Ritz may still do a private candlelit dinner on the beach -ask. Also a nice cocktail/sunset sail is on the Lady Lindsey. They also do a private picnic lunch where they drop you off at Great St. James with all the beach gear and snorkeling equipment. Havana Blue is at the Marriott and closer to Charlotte Amalie. Robert's at the Elsyian is "next door" to the Ritz and he has a few tables outside adjacent to the beach. Good to stay close by if you plan to celebrate unless you have a "desiginated driver" (taxi).

If you have a 100$ credit you might check to see if Havana Blue would take it. Marriott and the Ritz are sister hotels and under the same ownership.

Oceana would be one choice and Mim's at Watergate another. Ask for one of the 1/2 round tables that looks directly at the water. No distractions at all!
