I think she comes back Saturday or Sunday ? I've been checking for her message in the sand but have not seen anything yet, unless I missed it.

Hi everyone. I'm back.

Ruth told me that you were all looking for me when I stopped by St. John Spice at one point during the week.

Every time I stopped by the web cam the tide was too high and would've erased my efforts so I didn't bother. My friend Tiffany and I did wave at it drunk one night, maybe Monday...

I'm trying to catch up here, but I will tell you that we all loved Hale Lani, and I did take pictures for you that I will post in my photobucket and link to at some point. Maybe a few days from now. I'm swamped this week!

Hale Lani is a great house in a great location. We spent the whole week marveling at how we managed to get it for $3000 for a week. We're already planning a trip for 2009 with our "Six for Red Hook" group, and some of us are trying to figure out if we can somehow manage to stay there next year, although that might be a smaller group.

It would probably be better for a families or a group of girlfriends than for four couples. The downstairs bedrooms both have outdoor entrances, but are connected by a door and share a bathroom. One room has a king-sized bed and the other is two twins. Upstairs are two large king bedrooms with their own bathrooms and stone outdoor showers. All the bathrooms have their own patio. The bedroom off to the left of the pool area had a nice little deck with a chair and table, but the girls said it was kind of grown up and hard to see anything from it. The views for the rest of the house (including the patio from the two bedrooms downstairs) were amazing. You could see nothing but ocean and the lights of St. Thomas.

The area up on Maria Bluff is pretty quiet, although when folks came to the two villas closest (one on the other side of the driveway and one right above on the hill) mid-week, we noticed their arrival. (Just more lights, voices, music, but for the most part our villa was very quiet.)

The landscaping for the yard was very nice, lots of flowers, rocks and a couple little man-made ponds. There was a living/dining area off the pool and there was a grill where we made many dinners. The pool is bigger than it looks in pictures. There was also an inside living/dining/kitchen area with a deck outside. There was a TV with all the cable channels and a VCR. The hallway had a laundry room and half-bath that was quite handy.

The kitchen was pretty much stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes, appliances we could ever need. All of the door walls pushed all the way into the exterior walls so the house was completely open during the day. We managed just fine with ceiling fans and tradewinds, even though it was hotter than a mother a few days. The mosquitos got bad, but we just kept citronella candles burning in the common areas and that helped, plus added ambience. All of the bedrooms had air conditioning, which worked pretty well.

I know you all had questions. Feel free to post them here and I'll answer them.

Yay LULU! Thank you so much for reporting back. I really appreciate it.

I can't wait!

Can you tell me is there a private space/deck off somewhere if we were to have nomadic spa come and set up for an afternoon massage. I know so decadent but its VACATION!

The pictures on the web didn't even begin to describe this villa. It's much nicer than the web site even makes it look. Amazing.

You could probably use the private deck down where the two bedrooms are or maybe the one on the back of the house. I don't think we used that at all.

All of the doors had screens. In our room, we got enough breeze that we just opened all the windows and doors and ran the fans at night. Much better than AC.

Here is a link to some photos of the villa. The captions should explain the pics but feel free to ask.

I tried to get in to see if I did something wrong, and it was a little tricky for me too, Joe. Just keep trying.

I want to rave and rave about this villa, but at the same time I'm worried that now y'all will book it and I won't be able to get a week for myself.
