A Successful Florida Gathering

Post by FlaGeorge »

Well - I have to say that the first Florida Gathering was a success. Mother Nature helped out by giving us great weather - the view from the roof-top bar at the Hurricane was magnificent and we finally got to put some faces with names with our new found friends.

It was nice that some folks from the VINOW forum showed up too - it just goes to show that no matter what forum you're on - we all have the islands in common. Angibear and family get the prize for coming the longest way - they came from N.H. and it was nice that they could swing by.

As the sun was going down, we said our goodbyes to some folks knowing that our paths will cross again. As for the rest of us - Gobucs took the lead and we headed off to explore other parts of the beaches that make up the barrier islands.

We landed at this one place (don't remember the name), but the music was cranking out on the beach - but we could not find enough tables to put together. So we decided to go inside and get something to eat and yes - drink. That is were a fierce pool (as in pool table) competition broke out. Actually, it was a friendly competition - but I want to sign up Dr. Curley's wife to shoot pool on TV - can that girl shoot pool.

Steph and I called it a night pretty early and took the Jolly Trolley back to our hotel. From what I heard the next morning - the rest of the gang partied into the wee hours of the morning. I will leave Gobucs to continue that part of the story.

We have several pictures and will try to get them posted. Can someone help me post then out on the forum if I send them to you? I don't have a web site that I keep pictures on.

Again - thanks everyone that showed up and for the folks that couldn't make it this time - we'll be doing it again.

Sounds like a great time. If I hadn't used my pass the weekend before, I surely would have tried to convince the hubby that we NEEDED to go to Florida. He already thinks us forum folks are crazy. Well, I think he uses the term "you St. John freaks"!

Hey yall
Yes we had a great time and i was 2 hours late
as we were trying to find a hotel room close to the hurricane but everything was sold out :x
So we ended up going down the beach further and thats why we were late
BUT
I got to meet alot of nice people and had a great time :D
After Fla George and Steff left for the evening Dr. Curly and his wife and My hubby and sister staed out pretty late, having a good time of course 8)
OF Course i was very hungover the next morning which did not make for a good 1hr 1/2 ride home
Cant wait for the next one
Maybe in STJ

Thank's again for a very fun evening

Where did Dr. Curley's wife (Kathy) go to. I know that we had a stranger take the picture.
