Must Do List for Next Trip
Thanks!
I am really excited.
I finished packing my bag last night and was able to get everything into my carry on with a little wiggle room (which is good because the urchin thread just reminded me that I forgot to pack my water shoes).
Now I have to tackle John's bag, which is definitely going to be a greater challenge.

OK- I need details of what you have in your carryon. How long are you going for? We are going for close to two weeks and I carry about 3 bags with me for a weekend beach trip and one is a normal size suitcase!
Another question. I take alot of vitamins and supplements. Is that a problem to carryon. If I check them is that OK?
Have an amazing trip. Can't wait for the trip report and more food porn!

The only issue I think you'd have with your vitamins is if they are gelcaps, right? You could double check the TSA site on that one.
Anyway, packing details!
We are going for 10 days. I was really able to fit a lot into the bag. I rolled everything up and put them inside big Ziplocs and pressed all the air out. Here’s the bag I bought, thanks to California Girl’s recommendation:
http://www.ebags.com/products/index.cfm ... nite_72414
And here’s what fit into it:
Suitcase:
4 bathing suits
One cover up
2 casual sundresses
2 skirts
1 pair of pjs
12 shirts
10 pairs undies
6 pairs of shorts
One pair of sandals
Mask and snorkel
Red Sox cap!
2 pairs board shorts
1 dee-rag
1 bucket hat
Foldable tripod
Personal item:
Camera and housing
Video camera and cords
Box of memory cards and hd mini tapes
Two books
Journal
Abridged fish ID book/fish card
Quart sized Ziploc with necessary liquids
Cell phone charger
Camera charger
Hair comb
Passports
Reservations paperwork
ID/credit cards/big wad o’bills for tips
I also shipped down a box in advance with our fins, sunblock, bugspray (not enough, apparently
), Benadryl, shampoo/conditioner, plus some extra books and our snorkel bag.
Hope that helps!

No, the tote is my "personal item." It's about the size of a laptop bag. The larger item goes in the overhead, and the tote will slide under the seat. Before I had this set I used a backpack for my personal item.naturegirl wrote:Wow, that's incredible! Can't believe you fit all that into a carryon. The ebag link shows 2 carryons one large and one tote. Is the tote for John?

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your organizational skills particularly to one who has very little (that would be me). Usually my very organized husband unpacks my packed suitcases before we go and condenses the contents from 4-5 bags down to 2. This time I may surprise him. I will probably order the bags today. There was a couple of reviews though that mentioned the handle of the suitcase breaking after a few uses so keep an eye on that. There should be a warranty I would imagine.
Once again, have a safe and awesome trip! Keep writing in that journal. I usually do it for the first 2-3 days of vacation then get too involved with everything else going on and bag it! Hope to be better on this trip.

Have a great trip!
Should we ever overlap, I'll gladly keep John and the champagne company on the beach and you and Don can knock yourselves out kayaking.
Go Red Sox!! I wore my cap all over the Meditteranean last month. I became the official score keeper of the cruise - had to make sure to login and get scores before breakfast
safe travels,
