Daysail

Post by Badger5 »

We are two families (parents early 40's with 5 kids ranging in age from 7 yo to 14 yo) who would like to do a private daysail next March while in St. John. We want to go to Sandy spit and Jost. What boat or company would you recommend for us??

How many total ??? Is it 2 sets of parents (4) and 5 kids so 9 or just 2 parents and 5 kids. Let us know and we can recommend.

I think your setup is similar to ours...two families, 5 kids, except the ages are 4-13. (total of 9)

Anyway, we took a daysail this past Feb. with Captain Kevin on Born to Rhumb. www.borntorhumb.com
What a great day. You can name your itinerary; we did the Baths, the Caves, Sandy Cay, and (almost) Jost (kids were too tired). Would highly recommend him. We really enjoyed the trip. As we were a party of nine, we were the only ones on the boat, which was quite nice. Let me know if you want further info.

We would be 9 total. I would love more info on the Born to Rhumb - or any other charter you could recommend.

I would definitely second the Born to Rhumb recommendation. We have taken this trip with Captain Kevin the last two years and plan to do it again next April. It is ALWAYS the best day of our vacation. The boat is very comfortable and fast; Kevin will make great recommendations and tailor the day to suit what you want to do.
