MB, Oh my gosh, that stuff looks good. Honestly, the highlight for me would be the beautiful tomato you had sliced for breakfast. A little S&P on that, heaven. Has Charlie tried the "Scorned Woman" hot sauce yet? One of our faves. Maybe there is "linner" in our future on STJ. Did Charlie make the rice tower?
Going "home" again October 26th!
B, don't think we've had that hot sauce. I will tell him to look for it in November. Yesterday I made the rice towerbrenda wrote:MB, Oh my gosh, that stuff looks good. Coconut Sticky Rice
1 cup jasmine rice
1 cup coconut milk
1 tsp. kosher salt
zest of one lime
1 1/2 cups water
zest of one lime
cilantro and sesame seeds to garnish (optional)
Combine all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil. Cover, turn heat to low, and let cook until all the liquid is absorbed, about 20 minutes.
Let stand, covered, for an additional 10 minutes before serving.

Okay - my FIRST food porn - sorry I don't know how to make the pics smaller and you gotta love our groovy plates

Curry Shrimp (used Ruth's Caribbee Curry and a tad olive oil to marinate then sauteed it)
Coconut Sticky Rice (Liamsaunt's recipe)
Black Bean Mango Salsa (Liamsaunt's recipe except I accidently added a red pepper before I realized I was following the wrong recipe).
I can't thank all of you guys enough for getting me interested in cooking! Your food porn AND your great recipes have me hooked!

p.s. added the sesame seed garnish to the rice after the pic

Yummy Elizabeth! Now I have to post my dinner from last night, because it was a recipe Elizabeth sent me! She called it just sweet and spicy shrimp--it marinated in lemongrass, cilantro, hot peppers, honey, garlic, ginger...it was really good:

I made some fried rice and chinese broccoli as side dishes.

Liamsaunt - your food (AND YOUR PLATES) look so awesome!!! I have to admit that that is not my recipe but thought you might enjoy it; it was my cousin's recipe. One day I will take credit for something I created
Margo - you crack me up!!! Keep in mind that we never ate at home before I started cooking. I would say those plates are about 15 years old at least. We also have the all white Corel once we use the four "pretty" ones. I am totally laughing right now!
I was just telling SO that I wanted to update our plates and more importantly pots and pans and he asked what was wrong with the ones we have. I said for one thing, the plates don't match
I am also trying to get him to let me clean out the cabinets and pack up some of the stuff we don't use, but he is such a pack rat I don't know if it will happen. Wish me luck.

When we remodeled our kitchen 3 yrs. ago I insisted on new pots & pans! Up till then, I had been using the old Revere Ware that my mother got when she was first married in the 30's!! You couldn't even tell the dented bottoms were copper any more! LOL! Most guys (those who don't cook) just don't understand the need for new pans and plates!
