Trip Postponement & Baby Update ... for the interested
Well ...So we made the decision to cancel/postpone the trip slated for November 11-18 a little while back due to the baby concerns.
There is just so much going on & the prospect of being on a remote island far from my doctors is just not appealing. I am seeing a doctor (or two) at least once a week at this point and really in the grand scheme its not worth any risk. St. John will be there for me when I need it. Right now I need to be here. Close to the docs.
Car rental - Canceled, no penalty --- again thank you Carmen at Conrad Sutton!
House rental - Postponed, no penalty though they could have kept our $1500 deposit. They will hold the deposit until we re-book when we know when we want to re-book --- Thank you Lori of Destination St. John!
Airfare - Canceled with miles redeposited, $50 per ticket. Better than kissing 120,000 worth of skymiles good bye. (We now have 230,000 skymiles --- trip to India anyone). Thank you a little bit Delta.
Our plan for now is wait and see how things turn out with the baby boy. Perhaps we'll make a trip in the late Spring early summer or maybe we'll just really save ourselves and go nuts and go for Thanksgiving or something later in 2007. There is no question that we will return, the only question is when.
At the follow-up from my last procedure I actually saw two inflated lungs for the first time! It was a great sight. The fluid on the left lung was reaccumulating but more slowly only impacting about 1/5th of the lung. This suggests that he is figuring out this whole production/drainage issue. All tests are negative for all possible causes & for the first time in 5 weeks we are not waiting on this or that random test result. Keep us in your thoughts as I am sure all the positive vibes from STJ lovers & my friends & family are definitely helping! Hope is still very measured, but it exists & that is what matters at the point!

Hope is one of the best things of all. So good to hear from you that you had a positive news with your baby boy's lungs. Thanks so much for the update. Those ultrasounds and calls with test results are always so scary. I always think of the quote from Winston Churchill "....when you're going through hell, just keep on going." Makes sense. I agree with you about Lori and Carmen. They are wonderful and kind people. My thoughts, prayers and positive vibes are with you every day.
Flip-flop, I am so glad to hear from you and to read that all is going well for you and the baby. Keep getting those good reports!! Also glad to read that getting your trip cancelled and all squared away is done now, just worrisome things you don't need to deal with at this current time. Take care!!
