Villa for Family in February 08

Post by krislbi »

Hello all, i know there is a villa review section, but wanted some input from "the regulars". We are traveling with my two small children (1 and 3), and my immediate family (parents and two brothers) sometime in February. I know we need to book soon, as a lot are already booking up but I just cannot seem to make a decision on a villa. Requirements-kid friendly, pool and good views. Oh, and 4-5 Bedrooms...
Now, I need to start saving for the sky high airfare out of PHilly!!!

krislbi - I am not sure what a "kid friendly" pool is but our family rented all of Ristaba (house and cottage) a few years ago through Vacation Vistas, and we had 4 wee ones ranging in age from just 2 to 7 (I think that was their ages).

If you have any questions, feel free to pm me.

I can recommend Chateau Margot on Bordeaux Mtn. http://islandgetawaysinc.com/chateaumargot.html Kathy from Island Getaways is wonderful to deal with. Their pool has a really great fence that can be easily installed around it. We had our 2 1/2 year old grandaughter here in June and the fence was great. There are 3 bedrooms in the main house (2 share one bathroom) [The masterbedroom and bath is HUGE], 2 more in the guesthouse and one more in the cottage. The location and views are really fabulous and it's so private and quiet up there. We loved this villa. There was plenty of parking space for 3 Jeeps too.

I just read today that Frank Bay house is a good one for small children. Big walls around the pool or deck or something like that. Looks like a great location too!

Take a look at Vistaero; it's a 5 bedroom villa with a huge pool and lovely views.

It is offered by Destination St. John.

Let me know if you have any questions. Happy to help!

I just flipped over to take a look at flights and YIKES is right! (We are also flying out of Philly in Feb but already have tickets. We ended up purchasing way early as someone was nervous about all of us not being able to get on the same flight.)

I here Great Expectations often mentioned as a good house for small ones but don't have any first hand experience. Our house needs were smaller until this year.

Chateau Margot looks amazing. Didn't someone else just stay there recently?

We stayed at Great Expectations this past Feb. with another family - total of 5 kids, youngest being 3. The pool is very kid friendly, sort of split into two pools, one very shallow and great for little ones and the other perhaps 3-4 ft deep for dipping, which was great for the 8 and 9 yr old kids. Also had a full-size tennis court.

We used the 2 bedroom pods on either side of the great room. Each pod had 2 BR/2BA, no interior doors but the slider access doors were close together. It also had a guest house with maybe 2 other bedrooms but we did not need this. Overall it was a nice place with views of both Chocolate Hole and Hart Bay. We enjoyed it very much. Would definitely recommend for families.

I would highly recommend Villa Panache, through Catered To, if its available. It has a gorgeous view, beautiful pool area and 5+ bedrooms. The master bedroom has an adjoining room with a convertible bed that would work well for the 1 and 3 year olds. Wonderful great room and kitchen too.
