East End Villa The Retreat
East End Villa The Retreat
Came across a villa called the Retreat On the east end. I love snorkeling Haulover so this has caught my eye. Has anyone stayed there. It seems quite isolated, and different.

That one is sort of intriging - havent seen anything on it here. Have you tried search function?
The coral on east end seems to be suffering less than elsewhere on island, so if that is your #1 thing, good to stay out there, but the extra driving required to get back to north shore and Cruz Bay gets tiresome, so pick your spots with doing that.
In additon to Haulover, Pelican Rock, and Newfound Bay (via boat or sea kayak) would be "must do" out there.

When we come to place where the sea and the sky collide

My husband & I rented The Retreat in May of 2006. The house is nice and the view was beautiful. During the time we were there there was construction going on. A new villa was being built next door. We haven't been back to the East End since we stayed at The Retreat - not sure if there has been any further development in the area.
We did take the path down to the beach. We didn't venture into the water. From the beach we could see tons of black sea urchins in the shallow water and washed up in the sand. Neither of us was brave enough to try to side step them to get into the water. The property manager at the time told us that the family that was there before we arrived had raved about the snorkling.
I have several piuctures of the villa and the views that I could e-mail you if you want.
