Bill,

I am so sorry to hear about how cancer has affected your life and your family's life. I can't imagine what how you got through losing your son. It seems so unfair.

Cancer struck our family in July, my husband at the age of 48 was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He will be operated on in October. Once again, it seems unfair and you wonder....why us?

I will be thinking of you and your wife and hoping that you will be back on St John before too long.

((((hugs from a fellow spouse of a cancer patient))))

I too am saddened to hear of your news. The lymph nodes not being involved is such a positive thing!! You just have to get through this tough time and STJ again awaits. Nothing like a little Caribbean Therapy to get Sandie strong again.
Going "home" again October 26th!

Bill
You and Sandie and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Yes, STJ will always be there.
Cancer affected me in that I had to leave STJ in 2005 when my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer and positive thought. Everyone (even those who do not post) will have you and yours in their thoughts and prayers.

I knew when I saw your title that it wasn't good news but we are all here for you both! The power of prayer is a very strong thing and you have mine to add to all of the rest! If there is anything else I can do please just ask!

I think everyone of us on this board has had a family member or close friend who has been touched by this disease. We will have Sandie and you in our thoughts.
Start planning your rescheduled trip to SJ.

Bill, I was sorry to see this post this morning. You and your family have already been through so much. I will keep you in my thoughts. I wish Sandie a speedy recovery, and many more trips to the magical place that is St. John for you both.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I volunteer at a Cancer Center two days a week. I have learned much from the cancer patients in the last four years. The one that constantly amazes me is the courage and hope I see over and over. I wish you and Sandy hope, courage, strength during the treatment, and recovery. Sincerely, Sharon

Bill, I don't post often but I read here all the time and feel that I've come to know some of you regulars. Vicki is right when she says that there are many readers out there wishing you both the very best.

Please forgive me for this presumptuous observation/advice but it is heart felt. It seems to me that you and your Sandie have passed through the most devastating of life's experiences with love and strength. You will do the same here. Here is what I am hoping for you. When you stop reeling from this blow, which is SUCH a COMPLETE pain in the ass....(says the mistress of the understatement)..you will be comforted by the fact that there have been really incredible medical strides made when dealing with breast cancer over the past few years. I hope Sandie finds a group of women who have been there, can give her support, tell her what to expect, hold her hand and laugh with her...yes...laugh.

Someone very close to me was where you are 5 years ago. We were all terrified. She opted for the radical surgery/reconstruction right away and treatments afterward. Today, cancer free, she feels and looks better than ever. It is not a death sentence anymore. I expect to be reading your trip reports in the future and I look forward to thinking.....I told them so. With much love and prayers flying your way. Jules (aka MMM)
