 :o What a difference! hahaha, those are awesome comparative shots ! My wife and I did Florida for a few years before STJ... there just is NO COMPARISON. We try to tell people and they just "don't get it"

Thanks Captain and have a great friday, YEEEHAW! :D

Nice comparison photos! It is true that we are spoiled on St. John. I took my niece and nephew out to the Cape last year and we got to the beach and I could not believe how crowded it was! People everywhere! Conversely, when I took my parents, first timers to Trunk in June, and eventually told them we had to leave because it was too crowded, they looked at me like I had two heads!

You know what kills me? The fact that people pay just as much -- if not more -- to rent a house in the Outer Banks, NC vs. STJ.

From NoVA that's a 6-7 hour drive in the car each way and then you've got all those people to deal with. I can get to STJ in the same amount of time by plane.

Outer Banks and other mainland beaches are nice, but you can't beat that crystal clear blue water on STJ.

When people tell me how much they paid to rent their house in NC for a week and I tell them how much it costs to rent a decent villa on STJ, they are shocked. Granted you have to factor in airline and car rental costs but still -- IMHO -- no contest!

I'm with ya gromit. I'm always telling people at work with a little homework they can do vacations for not much more in the caribean. They always are asking how we are always going.Used to always go to Florida, N.C. or S.C before we discovered this.Went to Myrtle this year because thats were the kids wanted to go instead of Jamaica go figure pretty sure they wouldn't get St. John. We did have a great time though at Myrtle.

This is why I chose S.T.J. this year instead of Disney World. It was a whole lot cheaper for us{family of 5} to visit S.T.J. Than Disney. I'd rather see a mongoose that a rat! For me S.T.J. is my Disney World!!Parafins

Disney World is a whole differnt type of vacation! Before I built teddy bears I managed a Disney store and it was the cheapest vacation we could take! The food is great and they have a lot of different things to do there for every age group!

Be careful what you say about that rat! :D
