My 2 weeks on STJ in no particular order,,,,,,,
I couldn't believe my eyes when you said "...to Texas Tech"! My daughter is there right now, she's a senior and my other daughter graduated from there in 2005! It's a 8 1/2 hour drive from far east Texas for us so I feel your pain as far as the long drive goes but my girls have been happy there... that's always helped me get over the let down when they leave each year. This is my last year with a college child and i thought I'd have more money for STJ trips but now one of them is getting married next June SO so much for the extra money!!!!
"By the time we hit Miami, the cell phones will ring and life as we know it will draw us back in, so tonight we will just continue to soak in the sounds, the sights, the tastes and the feelings of St. John."

Great way to share a trip. Your pictures are wonderful. The moon shot is great, and I love the one of the three of you from the back in the beach chairs....cheer up and think about your next trip to STJ - my boys have been out of college for 6+ years now and I STILL get the empty house syndrome this time of year!

Thanks for sharing the pics, and that's a cool way of making a trip report... ya know what they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words"
"Try to preserve nature where you live, not just where you visit"

Well that was a sweet little trip down memory lane...thanks!
We have actually done a Greek island the last 2 years after 8 years of St. John. I had no idea there was a giant neon looking sign over Wharfside Village (you know, in case you couldn't find it from your boat!)Ay yay yay, what's next?

Loved your pictorial Cypress! You are beautiful! I thought Jane Seymore was looking back at me in that pic with the girls. I'm a pretty "high Maintenance" girl at home but could never motivate myself to "get ready" for dinner excursions. Maybe I'll try harder next time. I'm gonna TRY to post pics with my next report and I don't want to look like a Hagatha to all my forum peeps!
I found it so ironic about you crying cause MiniCypress was going off to college. I've been sitting here crying cause MiniMe ISN'T going back off to college. She's going to school here now and probably because she wants to stay glued to the hip with her tattooed boy bander! Depressing to say the least! What's a mom to do?

Thanks for the compliments on the pics.
I drove early Thurs. moring from Houston to Texas Tech (Lubbock....8 1/2 hrs.pulling a U-Haul). Got to her apartment and walked into a filthy mess. We had to scrub the whole thing down before we could begin to unpack. I won't go into the gory details except to say that her roommate had an empty iguana cage in the corner of the living room. The iguana died two days before. The whole place smelled like death.
Anyway, we got her moved in and flew home yesterday. I cried for an entire day. I got pulled out of security for a "check". I was balling like a baby and I think the security guard thought I was a lunatic.
Now it's back to business.........trying to plan a STJ trip that includes hubby. Wanted to do spring break, but the FF miles and high season costs may put us into June. What a difference a couple of months makes.
