I agree with liamsaunt, unfortunately, the coco real is not that great. I can't really put my finger on it, but it has almost like a soapy taste and/or an after-taste. Definitely much handier in the plastic container, but not a good replacement to coco lopez. As stated above, we really, really like the coconut snow. Ali~

Thanks for all the responses folks.

Looks like I have a little R&D to do before I'll be able to make the perfect homemade Painkiller :)

liamsaunt & Ali,
Thanks for the scoop re: CoCo Real; I was all set to take some with us to St. John. I think I have time to order Coconut Snow...think I may just give it a try.

I looked up the Coconut Snow and it's only $2.99 from Liquorama...but $9 for shipping! :(

Hopefully I can find it locally...

That is unless Anthony wants to go into the Coconut Snow business...his shipping is always very reasonable (and quick, too!).

Let me think about this ... after purchasing it, I learned that I could get it elsewhere to avoid the shipping fee. Hmmm, thinking....I'll get back to you. Ali~

Ali, let me know if you remember where you got the Coconut Snow :)

Finewinehouse.com has Coconut Snow too, but they seem to be the same company as Liquorama.com...shipping is $9 there too.

I've been searching with Google for about 15 minutes but haven't found another place yet that carries Coconut Snow.

The search continues...

I did find the Coco Lopez yesterday at a liquor store for $3.79...kind of pricey I thought. The snow would be a lot easier to use.
