Crocs - Love them or Hate them?

Thanks all. I think I need a little more support than I've been getting around the house. I am a flip-flop lover but go barefoot allllll the time at home and with hardwood I am beginning to think that might be part of the problem.

Personally, I can't get past my perception that these crocs are a sweat factory. Hot and certainly not absorptive.

Well, guys & gals, I bought a pair last tuesday and have been experimenting ever since. Mostly wearing them around the house and I hate to say it but they seem to be working. Docs & nurses may be onto something afterall.

I ditched them to take my wee one to dance class and wore my flip-flops. By the time I got home my lower back was aching. But them back on, WORE them out (how embarrassing)...went to costco, lunch, and a car dealership... no aching.

They are just so homely! I haven't noticed the sweaty stinky problem yet :0

I happened to see this topic today, and thought I would tell how satisfied I was with my new purchased Crocs during our long vacation in VI. Sometimes I have back problems. I knew we had to go a lot in the airports, stay in row and also have to walk a lot around seeing different sites. So it was important for me to have the best on my feet. And the Crocs were really good. Also it’s so easy to take them off and on in security and during the long flight. I know they perhaps are not so smart, but mine are black, and I often wear something black together with, not so bad, I think. In the flight I wear socks, but also long trousers, never wear socks together with shorts. I also enjoyed them on the beach, so easy to remove the sand, just shower them. Coming home the “ smell” was not so good, but I put them in water together with Rodalon, something we can buy in Denmark to remove bad smell. No problem. I cannot do without my Crocs any more! The only complain I have is the price in Denmark. The original Crocs cost about 81 dollars. But you can have lots of copies cheaper.

I usually live in flip flops but I have a herniated disc, and after a particularly painful winter, I knew I would be better off wearing my orthotics. But the thought of a closed shoe in summer was awful!

I searched the internet for some kind of orthotic flip flop. Found these and had my doctor make the cast and send the order in. They are great. People actually compliment me on them and I tell them they are custom orthotics.

There was an article in yesterday's Chicago Tribune about how bad flip flops are for your feet and legs, and how girls and women who wear them are prone to injury. They recommended a few brands as providing better support, and Crocs (flip flops) was one of those.

Maryanne, the orthotic flip flops are a great idea!

I know that Crocs are pretty ugly but what about the Croc MaryJane style. They are not as bulky and just as functionable.

I own the flip flop style and they are comfortable, I had to get used to the part between your toes because it is larger than my normal flip flops. The flip flop style is cute but I can't wear the clog style they are just too ugly.

I also own Reef flip flops and while they are not much cuter I will never give them up. I was thinking since the black sole was starting to mold to my foot I needed to buy a new pair, but in another post I hear that is was they are supposed to do.

I have friends that swear by them. Me? Not really a fan of the clog style, but perhaps I would try one of the many other styles they carry now.

I love them myself, I have the fake ones and wear then to work everyday, I work in retail and I'm on my feet all day and I to have a lower back prob.and to tell you the truth my back doesn't bother me near as much since I started wearing then.Be brave flip flop and give them a try.and belive it or not jellies are coming back.

Just came across this post today.

I was talking to a nurse over the weekend and they've been banned here at a hospital in PA because of the holes on them. They were nervous of the fact that any needles could fall on a nurses foot and fall through the holes and stick them.

If I had to vote? I hate the look!

I can't wear the crocs but do have a pair of the Fit-Flops and I wear them everyday. In this new job that I have I'm on my feet all day long and have found myself standing up straighter and with no knee pain that I usually experience. Would like to try the croc flip-flops. At the hospital that I volunteer at lots of the nurses wear crocs although sandals of any type are forbidden. We must also wear stockings. Just wonder how the crocs stay on with stockings.

Reefs are my absolute fav but only the styles with the thicker soles... but Yellow Box makes some styles with a thick black (or brown) sole that are a little stiff when brand new but after one wear rival my reefs for comfort and I have animal print and jeweled ones... I call them my dress flipflops, lol. For winter, ladies, you've got to try any of the thicker soled Clarks with jeans, they are fabulous cold weather replacement for flip flops!

I walked 3 miles in flip flops (supposed sports ones) about a month ago and had BLISTERS! yikes! I still can't put my feet in crocs though. I just bought TEVA flip flops so we will have to see how those are.
