Tropical Storm Dean

Post by Randy in MD »

Time to start obsessing... From the NHC:

THE DEPRESSION HAS REACHED TROPICAL STORM STATUS AND ALSO THAT THE CENTER IS LOCATED FARTHER TO THE SOUTH AND WEST THAN PREVIOUSLY INDICATED.

DYNAMICAL GUIDANCE SUGGESTS THAT DEAN COULD BE NEAR THE LESSER ANTILLES AS A HURRICANE WITH 100 TO 110 KNOTS IN FIVE DAYS.

I wouldnt worry to much just yet as these storms can change directions on a dime Like Hurricane charley did to us 3 years ago
The cone of uncertainty is just that very uncertain
Dont look at the line in the middle but the whole cone
I wish everyone good luck and hope it works out!

Here's another good tracking site.
Looking at the "Spaghetti Model"
shows what the various computer
models think will happen...not
too encouraging for the VIs right
now but, as other have mentioned,
it is too soon to tell.
