I already want to go back

Ok so I have been back for 3 days.It was our first trip and I already am planning another. I was truly amazed and understand why you guys love it so much . My only regret was we stayed on St. Thomas instead of St John. Hubby had Marriott points ,so that was the only reason. I know better for next time. Does anyone have any recommnendations for a nice villa that wont break us ? We did manage to take a trip over on the car ferry to st Jonh,and the jost .What a wonderful time.

You'll get lots of ideas for a villas here, especially if you let us know what your budget is. The villas range so much in price. Also, if you know whether you prefer Cruz Bay area to Coral Bay area, that will help people recommend places to you.

The wife and myself had our first trip to St John last month and are already planning to return in December. We just had a wonderful time and can not wait to get back.

I am also new to this forum, been lurking some, but I can tell you this is a great place. You will get tons of info from people that know the island.

You might want to post your needs in a villa, ie, number in your party, if AC is needed, or pool is a must.

Post you needs and sit back and you will get plenty of replys, (come on people don't let me down).

well I dont have set price really ,I have no idea what the average cost really is. I kow if we go back it will be during summer months since I work for the school system and that is my time off. I did learn that fixing some of our own meals would reduce a big part of our cost . The food was great ,but it does get a bit pricey eatting 3 meals a day out. I think a 2 bedroom would be nice. I wasnt on St John only for a day so I dont know the best locations. Thanks for replying.

Here are some links to popular villa rental agencies on St. John. They have villas in all locations, different amenities, and price ranges. Just skim through--it will help you decide what you "need" to make your vacation a good one. For example--pool? hot tub? air conditioning? paved roads? close to town? When you search, take note of the fact that villa rental rates are charged by how many people are staying in the house, not how many bedrooms you use.

You will love a whole week on STJ. Lucky for you the prices are lower in the summer on villa rentals and car rentals. It does help to prepare meals at home, or pack a cooler when beach hopping. There are lots of cute 2br villas to be had, start your search and when you get it narrowed down to a few, someone here can help you decide. You are not alone when wanting to go right back. That's exactly how I felt both times that I went.
We stayed at Villa Cielomar in June which is walking distance to Cruz Bay and very reasonably priced.
