Cutter's repellent wipes
Anyone use these? Any information about effectiveness?
Thanks
Thanks
They are Perfect! We just moved to the Mississippi Delta in southeast Arkansas (mosquito heaven) and the wipes are great to put in your purse, leave in your car, put in your spouse's car... The application process is much neater...the spray seems to get everywhere and can really damage a polished pedicure! They seem to work just as well as the spray. Sometimes, I use 2 because the first one seems to dry out before I've completed the application. That is ok with me. Along with these wipes, I recommend the bug zapping tennis raquet! California Girl mentioned in her report in May! Ruth has some in her store and they run $10-$15! Everyone here where I live wants one. Excellent for killing pesky mosquitoes in the car or those that sneak in at night.

Sailorgirl - don't leave them in your car for extended periods as they will dry out. Yesterday, I threw out an almost full container of them that had dried out in my car.
I second Kellyanna's opinion of them though - they are VERY convenient and alot less messy - just remember to wash your hands after you apply them.

Nothintolose, thanks for the tip re: washing your hands and leaving the wipes in your car. Thank goodness I've only been leaving a couple at a time in the car...but what a bummer it would be to need one and it be all dried out! Hadn't even thought of it drying! Have gone overboard on the mosquito stuff. In my car, I have a bag zappin' racquet, wipes, and spray Deep Woods "off".

Mutations bother me, but you can actually see the plastic dissolving from DEET. I know we've had this conversation before, but seeing it freaks me out---yet, I'll still use it if I'm desperate!
Rick, have you seen that new spray from Avon with Picardin? I have a bottle (silver with organge top Bug Guard Plus Picardidin". My Delta friends swear by the one in the green spray bottle. "Bug Guard Plus Expedition" Actually as I'm looking at the bottle, the active ingredients are: beta-alanine, n-acetyl-N-butyl-, ethyl ester/carboxylic acid (20%). Ist that one RickG friendly?

Why yes, that will work just fine. That means you get to share my pool in October! You'll look good in that stuff...kellyanna wrote:Is that one RickG friendly?
Seriously, I've only had the DEET reaction when I've sprayed it on myself. When its been on my friends I've never had a problem.
But, any chemical (DEET) that has an antidote that is the same one used to counteract nerve gas (atropine) is something that I'd rather not have around. I got rid of my chem gear in 1995.
Cheers, RickG
