Secret Harbor Accomodations

Post by Diana2 »

I know many of you have stayed at Secret Harbor and I'm considering staying a few nights there next spring after a charter. It will be my hubby, myself and our grown daughter so I'm thinking we need a 2 bedroom unit. I'm not familiar with the resort. It looks like some of the buildings are a long way from the beach and restaurants. What building is the best location on the property? Are taxis readily available and it Red Hook ferry close by?

Hi Diana,

We like to stay in the beachfront units. These are the four buildings right on the beach (buildings 1-4). The oceanview units are up the hill, so a bit of a walk. On the plus side, the pool is up there.

Secret Harbour won't let you request a particular unit in advance, just the type of accommodation. All the units are individually owned and so are decorated differently.

The Red Hook ferry is about 5-10 minutes from Secret Harbour. If you want a taxi, you just call the front desk and they will summon one for you.

If you have any other questions, fire away!

Hello D - can only speak of the beachfront units, Bldg 2 lower in particular was nice to step out onto sand, easy in and out for drinks etc., upper units have better views and more secure in that if you have cool breezes, you can sleep with balcony glass doors open/screen door closed.

At time of reservation, you can politely indicate a preference as to which bldg, and our experience was that they will make an effort to accomodate you if possible.

Had someone ask us recently about the pool, we told them we never even went up to look at it. With views like this 20 ft outside the beachfront rooms, never felt the need.

Thanks for the responses. Does anyone of any other spots on STT that we (3 people) might consider staying for a 2 or 3 nights. We want a relativily quiet place to get our land legs after our charter and before we head home. We're not into night life or crowds.
