Full Moon

Post by beachluvers »

Just thought I'd through a question out there regarding full moon celebrations on St. John. I've heard about the famous Ms. Lucy Full Moon party; still happening? Is the view great there? I've also heard that you can't beat the view from Chateau Bordeaux, and our villa isn't far from there on Ajax Peak. Is there anywhere else that you'd reccommend to celebrate? Lastly, I think we are planning a Beach Bar gathering about 4:30 on 7/29, which happens to be the full moon. How crazy will it be to navagate the roads at night?

I'm getting so excited!!! The packing begins today!

Miss Lucy's is "OK", but I think of it as pretty mundane. Chateau Bordeau is an incredable setting on any clear evening. Book early and request a window seat. Seating is limited as it's a small place.
If you really want a great memory, get flashlights, a bottle of wine, some cheese and crackers, and do the Ram Head or Yawzi point trails. The full moon from either is one of the true wonders of the world.

Thanks for that info. JT...I've written it down and stashed it in my STJ folder for future reference. If I'm every lucky enough to be there during a Full Moon that sounds like an awesome evening!! :D

A full moon on Yawzi sounds really great, it's a nice little isolated peninsula, and the trail isnt tough at all. So I would have to agree with JT on this, nice recommendation.

We've done both. Yawzi is only a couple hundred yards long and is beautiful at night at the end.

That is an Awesome picture of the moon, Rick. While I was staring at the moon beam going across the water, I felt as if I could actually hear the waves lapping up against the shore line. It was a very peaceful moment. Thnx!! 8)

Not too bad, Rick. Brought back memories from the deck of In The Stars. Thanks for posting.
